These are characteristics which children of God should exhibit if they have surrendered to God's Holy Spirit. The Spirit changes us as we surrender.

What I notice is that loving others as oneself is not equal to not doing bad to others. For example, I can agree that to not steal is the right thing to do, but it's still not as righteous as giving alms to the poor.
