1 ¶ Then after an interval of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also.
2 And it was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.

Why does Paul do this?

Galatians 2:1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.
Galatians 2:2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

Paul went (by revelation) to the others in Jerusalem, Peter, james, john. Hte communicated to them the gospel which he (Paul ) preached. He didn't say I preach the gospel.... he told them THE GOSPEL that he was preaching, the gospel of the UNcircumcision of gal. 2:7Ithe mystery, the gospel of the grace of God, the gospel of the Uncircumcision, the preaching of the cross, 'my' gospel' ) Paul had been given a different gospel, message, and ministry than that of the 12. They (james, peter, john) had to be told what 'Paul's gospel' was... Paul COMMUNICATED IT UNTO THEM.

Paul does it because what he was commissioned to preach and what Peter and the boys were commissioned to preach was DIFFERENT! Had they been the same, there would have been NO NEED of Paul to go to them and tell them about the gospel HE preached, would there?
