In the video, the Franklin alderman claims she was trying to finish up college at Southern Methodist University when she took a job answering phones for what she thought was a modeling and casting agency.

"I answered the phone, I took a name, I took a number and a date," Hanson says. "At the end of my work session, I would call the owners and give them that information."

She claims she had no idea it was an escort service until police came calling.

As a result, Hanson says, she agreed to take a plea for a single charge under a "deferred adjudication," which allows first-time offenders to avoid convictions.

This sorta makes “…but I didn’t inhale.” slightly more plausible.
Yes.

Tennessee Neo-Nazis Show Up to Support Far-Right Mayoral Candidate

On Monday, the disquieting scenario unfolded during a candidate forum, where self-identified neo-Nazis showed up to rally behind mayoral hopeful Gabrielle Hanson, stirring concerns among locals and officials over extremist ideologies infiltrating their community’s political milieu.

At the forum, when asked by WTVF if they were there to make a statement, one of the neo-Nazis present said, "No, we're not making a statement. We're here for Gabrielle Hanson." The group said they were there to protect Hanson, the candidate they referred to as fighting Pride events.

“I did not hire the group that showed up at the debate the other night, nor did I ask them to participate as security for the event,” Hanson said.

Previously, WTVF exclusively reported that Hanson, who recently spearheaded an unsuccessful bid to block a Pride festival in Franklin, was found to have cheered on her husband, Tom Hanson, at a Chicago Pride event in 2008, where he sported nothing but an American flag Speedo.

White supremacist says mayor candidate wanted show of force at forum

A self-described white nationalist says he organized a show of force at a recent candidates forum at the specific request of Franklin mayoral candidate Gabrielle Hanson, despite her claims that she had nothing to do with it.

"I'm tired of being a lackey or cannon fodder for politicians that, you know, they want your help — then, when the heat gets turned up on them, then they are going to throw you under the bus," Lewis told the podcasters.

Lewis compared Hanson's denials to former President Donald Trump telling the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by," then disavowing the group.

During the podcast interview, Lewis claimed that there was "a threat that Antifa was supposed to be there to disrupt" the forum

"We've done business together, our politics line up mostly, you know, right-leaning, I considered her a friend of mine," Lewis said.

"I said, hey, if you need any help, let me know. I know things are heating up, you know, there's some crazy stuff going on. If you need any assistance, let me know.

Multiple Franklin aldermen call to censure ’embarrassment’ Gabrielle Hanson; she responds ‘you reap what you sow’

Two weeks from the mayoral election, multiple City of Franklin aldermen are calling one of the candidates an embarrassment and for her to be censured.

Hanson has been the subject of a number of recent controversies ranging from making unfounded claims about the Covenant School shooting to being accompanied by men identified as white nationalists at a recent event.

They didn't show up, as it turns out.

Those Antifa won't dare show their faces when I'm surrounded by my Nazis!

Clearly we need an anti-anti-Antifa group.

God's candidate for mayor? Critics say new Gabrielle Hanson video shows rise of Christian nationalism

Yet, at the tent revival, Hanson's problems are blamed on demonic forces.

"She is empowered to run for mayor," evangelist Amy Elizabeth Taylor declares as she invites Hanson to stand before worshipers. "She is empowered to be the mayor. She is anointed to be the mayor."

--

Pastor Riggs said he believes Franklin has become the flash point for this battle because so many conservative and Christian influencers have moved here from other parts of the country in recent years - and they see a chance to remake this community into a community that reflects their own values.

She lost to the incumbent, winning about 20% of the vote.

Just an hour after polls opened on Election Day, Hanson decried that voting machines were malfunctioning—a claim that was quickly corrected by a local election official who insisted that all polling locations were operating as normal.

Hopefully this is the end of her 15 minutes of shame.

Franklin Alderman Gabrielle Hanson resigns before vote to censure her

Hanson’s time as an alderman had been marked by controversy: Parents of the Covenant School called on Hanson to resign after she spread misinformation about the school shooting in March, and she faced dozens of ethics complaints for her comments disparaging Franklin’s LGBTQ community. The city’s ethics commission didn’t take up those complaints, but found that she had violated city code when she tried to pressure BNA into pulling support from a Juneteenth festival.

The commission recommended censuring her, but the board did not take action until Hanson’s ties with a local white supremacist group came to light.
