• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

comments please!

Neurontin (gabapentin) made me dizzy and EXTREMELY forgetful of things I'd known all my life. Did the same thing for others I knew. I took it for vulvodynia/vestibulodynia though, and you may have a totally different outcome. It didn't work for the pain. Lyrica might do you better though...although it didn't work for me either (but it seems women with what I have don't respond well to nerve blocks).

Good luck!

I was on them for 2 wks....for fibro.
I tolk myself off them.
I did not like the foggy mind and lazy feeling it gave me.

I have an appointment on the 26th at the Pain Center.
They give you a seires of nonsteroid shots.
After the injections, its soppose to leave you pain free
for 1 yr.

We'll see.

Wow, pain free for a year! That sounds great. What exactly are they? I get TPI's, but after my shots they only last for about two months.

I take Neurontin. My doc says I have to be on it for six months before my insurance would cover Lyrica. But after being on Neurontin for six months now, it works pretty good. I will have to see what my doc says on my next appointment.

Lyrica didn't work for me. They only thing it did is make me want to eat constantly which is not a good thing, lol, I don't need a bigger appetite! Some folks have had a lot of success with it though, guess it just depends on the person?
