How many people here have studied the Hebrew concept of ga'al? It is epitomized in the book of
Ruth when Boaz purchases the right to buy back the rights of Naomi to the land of her husband and sons lost when a severe famine caused them to have to sell their rights to their inheritance and move to Moab.

To study this you need an e-Bible that has the KJV and Strong's Concordance, or use an online Bible such as the Blue Letter Bible and a Strong's concordance, or hardest of all, a concordance, a Strong's Concordance and a KJV Bible. There are several e-Bibles available for free online such as e-sword and Xiphos which will run on Windows.

The word redeemer in the OT comes from the Hebrew word ga'al which is #1350 in Strong's. The word redeemer is found 18 times in the OT and every time it is found it is a reference to Christ.

I did this study at least 10 years ago but lost it when my old computer was hacked as I had not backed it up. I had approximately 50 megs of notes from this study. The notes were sqaved in html so the actual volume was less than that but thaty is still a large quantity of noes as this concept is found in both th OT and NT and found throughout the writings of Ellen White. My notes included both Biblical and SOP quotes. It took me a few months to do the study which I spent several hours a day doing.

In all I found 220+ texts related to this concept in the Bible as it covers every aspect of our salvation including Christ purchasing back our dominion over the earth which Adam surrendered when he sinned.

This is a fascinating study and you will find that it will be a large spirirual blessing to you if you take it up. It certainly was for me. I found out a lot I hadn't known before about the plan of salvation and God's love for humanity.
