  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Today we had what's called the Bull Market on campus. My school's mascot is a bull, and it's where all the clubs in the school set up booths and pass out info. So I was walking around the religious section looking at the atheist table who had pictures of Churches, Bibles, Stars of David, Mosques with the words "BASTIONS OF IGNORANCE" underneath them. They were also crossing the word "God" off of a huge stack of $1 bills. I was standing to the side pitying them and making a mental note to pray for them. A Muslim girl wearing a hijab from the Muslim Student Association booth right across the aisle saw me looking disgusted and smiled at me and motioned for me to come over. So I walked over and she showed me a big wheel o' fortune type wheel they had and said "Come spin our wheel and answer a question! You get free candy just for trying!" She said they were originally just giving it to those who got the questions right, but they must have made them a little too hard because only one guy had gotten one right so far and he was a Muslim ;) So I said I'd give it a shot....so I spun the wheel and she said "Ok, your question is 'What are the 5 Pillars of Islam?' " So I said "Shahadah - Testifying that there is no God but Allah and Mohommad is His prophet, salat - prayer 5 times every day, sawm - fasting during Ramadan, hajj - pilgrimage to Mecca once in your lifetime if you are able, and zakah - almsgiving"

All 5 Muslim students looked had looks on their faces like

I chose my tootsie pop, said "Thanks for the candy! God bless you all" smiled, and went on my way chuckling that being a religious studies major had finally paid off ^_^

LOL. They probably think of most people as bieng ignorant of their basic belives. They are probably right.

BTW. The guy in the atheist tent used to be a minister in some non-catholic church. If it's the same guy that still there from when I used be there.

I used to go to a friend that was giving massages right across from him.

Yea apparenlty his wife died and he hates and resents God as a result. Tragic, but not surprising. People who are that anti-God aren't atheists. Why fight something that doesn't exist? They just have a problem with God. Nothin to do but pray that the Lord will heal his pain.
