  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have not heard of this before, but those who are up on the Abortion debate may have. It is logically consistent for there to be a funeral for every ectopic fetus that is removed because it was a human being. Why have I never heard of any of these funerals?

I had an ectopic pregnancy myself, and actually it was a very traumatic thing. I didn't have a funeral for the baby, but I almost lost my life if that means anything. I had an abdomen full of blood and pain that was about 10x worse then giving birth to my son. I literally crawled from the parking lot of the hospital into the emergency room, had blood coming from every orafice in my body, and probably scared the doo-doo out of the staff at the check in area. I don't remember that though because as soon as I got in the doorway, I passed out. Woke up 2 days later in a hospital bed, minus a fallopian tube and a baby. I didn't even know I was pregnant though, and to me, the fact that I lived was more important than the rest of it. I can see how some people might want a funeral for their ectopic fetus though, because if you find out your pregnant, and plan for the baby, then find that it's stuck in your fallopian tube, that's a lot different then planning for an abortion from day one. You know? I wouldn't begrudge people from having a funeral for a miscarriage, an ectopic or even an aborted fetus. I don't think it's anybody's business but the one who wants the funeral.

Does everyone who dies need a funeral?
If you're not a party to it, then why do you care? MYOB.
