Why don't we all take some time to share our favoriate Bible texts and why they are our favoriates as a chance to uplift the Lord and encourage each other! :D

Here's mine:

Text: Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

This verse practically sums everything up to me. To be a Christian means to die to my sinful self and allow Christ to live in and through me. I will then live my life in total faith, striving to honor God in all that I do. The only way any of this is possible is through Christ's increadible sacrifice on Calvery. Wow!

Matthew 21:21 - Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

I have a lot of verses highlighted in my Bible, and a lot of verses have special significance to me, but this particular one is the one I always turn to when it seems like a certain situation is going to defeat my faith.

The "doubting not" part is what's hard because it's so much easier to believe the negative than the positive. I do know, however, that Jesus mean what He said here. It's all about faith...it moves mountains...literally.

My favorite:

John 11:35
Jesus wept.

Next is:

Ruth 1:16-17

And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where though lodgest, I will lodge; Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where though diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if aught but death part thee and me.

I like all the bible :) so I had to go in the relaxation area, friendship threads, etc, to just start posting as much as possible, one thread is called "post entire new testament in order verse by verse" or something like that, and also one about the whole bible, I learn so much from it all !

I appreciate your enthusiasm, come over to the friendship and post with us if you want :)

There are many texts that we could all put down here as being favourite but at times it would depend on the circumstances that the person is going through at that time.

I can think of a few that come to my mind.

Matt. 11:28-30
28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Another one I like is from Daniel 3
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

These men were about to be thrown into the fire and they said that even if God did not save them they would not worship the image.

What a great testimony by these young Hebrews.
