Well....

If the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have only one nature? God can not be compartmentalized into three persons. Deity (God), Soul (man), and Holy Spirit (angels).

Deity = The Father. One nature only. No other nature in union.

Deity + soul = The Son.

He is both fully God and fully man in union. Understanding of God is being translated and interpreted to man by means of communicating through His living Soul. What better way to make God knowable to souls of men? John 1:18

Deity + spirit = The Holy Spirit.

He is both fully God and fully the spirit of the angels in union.

Angels were created long before man entered the scene. At times the Holy Spirit was manifested as The Angel of Jehovah, being both fully God and fully angel.

For what its worth... The Lord gave me that to see. Its not a compromise in thinking.

You may believe that.... And, it is truth.

Yet, it has been seeming? You wish not to try to understand how that can be so. Because... If the Son and Holy Spirit are devoid of any second nature in union with God? That would mean there could be no Trinity. Nothing to distinguish the Son and Holy Spirit from the Father.

How can you read what I posted and they make that statement. Please go read the creed again and again until you understand it or you can ask questions about it if you like, I can help you and there are many others here who can as well.

Simply agreeing with the Creed does not constitute knowing how it can be so. Some accept truths by faith and do not seek understanding how something is so. That is fine. Up to a point of growth.

Yet, if God gives 'insight?' That, too, He desires to be accepted by faith. God requires of us that which He has given.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God." Eph 1:9-11

Do not believe me. Its not because I said something that I would be offended if someone rejects it. Its for the blessing of others.

Please study the actual facts that were presented and determine if it makes sense. After all, we know that Jesus was both fully man, and fully God. Not just God alone. God shows insight to take us beyond what we have already accepted by faith.

God wants to add more to our understanding, so we can qualify for receiving praise and glory from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Its for our blessing that God wants us to know more and more truth. For He became the Word made Flesh. He desires that we become more of Him (the Word of God) in our thinking.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jn 1:14



God wants us to think with the Word, to discern, and to grow in knowledge as to gain insight into His plan for our state of being in Him.

He desires to, and looks forward to, praising us in His presence.

All these historical ideas only present confusion, because they don't really keep to the Scriptures as written. That's why each one of them have faults in their theology.

God's Word reveals that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13).

The first thing the Bible student must understand per God's written Word, is that God created those born in the flesh with a spirit and a soul (Hebrews 4:12). And secondly, that spirit-soul is NOT part of the flesh material matter which our flesh body is made up of. And... that at death of our flesh, our spirit-soul is loosed from it, and goes back to God Who gave it (Eccl.12).

Only then... is one starting to be prepared to understand about Christ being born in the flesh through woman like us, and then raised from the dead by The Father.

Jesus Christ is part of The Godhead of God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit. All three Persons of The Godhead are described in various Scriptures throughout God's Word, so arguments about added verses in one of The Gospels is moot.

In John 4:24, John said God is a Spirit, pointing to The Father. Jesus existed before He was born through woman, even as He testified having spoken with Abraham back in the day (end of John 8). When born through woman, His Spirit did not stop being God. That should be obvious by all the miracles that He did while in the flesh. He suffered all the things in the flesh that we do, and remained completely without sin, unlike us.

And per Matthew 27, when Jesus died on the cross, His Spirit was loosed from His flesh body right then, by which He went and preached The Gospel to the "spirits in prison" (1 Peter 3). His flesh body wasn't even put in the tomb yet then. He even told the malefactor crucified with Him, that day he would be with Him in Paradise. When His dead flesh body was put in the tomb, after three days it was raised and transfigured to "a quickening spirit" when He ascended to The Father in Heaven to sit on the right side of The Father's throne.

Thus Lord Jesus never stopped being God while in the flesh either.

Forgive me, but its not a question of what I think, but rather of what the Bible says, and how the Church understands what the Bible says. In the case of Divine Immutability, it is very clearly mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments.

By the way, reference to the consensus patrum is not contrary to Sola Scriptura: Calvin, Luther, Cranmer, Knox, Wesley, all of the great early Protestants relied on the Early Church Fathers and indeed the term consensus patrum is of Calvinist origin (and not Orthodox or Catholic, who would refer instead in such cases to Holy Tradition or the Magisterium).

However even using the problematic method of nuda scriptura, which is not sola scriptura, the doctrine is still easily defensible, because Scripture does expressly state that God does not change.

Also are you suggesting that Jesus Christ, God the Son, is the same as the Holy Spirit? Because that would represent a severe departure from the Nicene Faith.

MAN's ideas from some supposed catholic authority and council.

God promised in His Word that His Word would REMAIN to His people unto ALL generations. So whatever councils men held, the ULTIMATE working of keeping His Word of Truth through the centuries was ALWAYS by God's Hand!
