  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

First off, you're 17 so I do not believe your going to be a commissioned officer for another 3 years. Secondly, have you joined yet? What's your MOS and have you even gone through recruit training, or are you going to college to get your commission?

BTW, I'm a Marine Sgt and on my out the door. I spent 9 years serving honorably for the Corps, but I feel a need to go into the Chaplaincy field, an occupation which the Corps does not have. Best of luck to you.

Go for it. The Corps needs good officers. Although if you want to be a Chaplain in the Marines you'll have to join the Navy because the Navy provides Chaplains and medical personell for the Marines.

Only if you get contracted or you get apply for and get the scholarship. Otherwise it comes out of your pocket. You also have to make the admission requirements of the college you plan on going to and have to get accepted there. NROTC will be hard, not that many actually go on to become commissioned officers. Even afterwards you still get evaluated on your leadership potentiel and MOS.
