I have a prophetic gifting, which mostly plays out in my dream world. I'll have recurring dreams for years at a time, then they will stop. I have many other vivid dreams as well, but only a handful occur over and over again. When I was a teenager, I would always dream of an airplane in the sky. I'd warn everyone that it was going to crash, and no one would listen. The airplane ended up crashing each time, with people running around in a panic, and me saying "I tried to tell you!"

In my mid-late 20s, I'd dream of a secret closet in my house that could only be accessed by me. No one else knew it existed, but it was large and I was always entering it.

For the past 3 years or so, I've had an extremely physically painful dream. My front teeth are being pushed together, and the pain is intense. Of course, I have other dreams about teeth falling out, breaking, etc., but those ones don't hurt. It's always the same front teeth on top being jammed together, and always painful. I prayed and asked God for an interpretation, and in a dream, someone told me it represented a spiritual alignment in my life that was painful. I don't know what's happening in the spirit realm, but now I'm wondering if this is the interpretation or my subconscious trying to sort it out. It's happening once a week, and feeling the pain in the dream is as disturbing to me as feeling it in real life.

I have always struggled to find anyone who could interpret or mentor me in this. The websites I find are just people promoting their own dream interpretation products for a fee. "Look at what else is happening in the dream" is hardly advice, because the pain and the teeth ARE the dream. Nothing else is happening.

Is there anyone out there who can provide insight to this frustrated dreamer?

I had this same exact recurring dream as you did. I had it from my teens up to the late twenties.

Sometimes, it would be a helicopter, but often it is a large jet airliner. Sometimes there'd be a few of them crashing at about the same time. Often crashing near our house. Sometimes they'd be bombers dropping lots of bombs.

Another version of my dream is that we are on the beach and lots of people and the waves are getting bigger and bigger to gigantic, really scary size. People are happily swimming out to the huge waves and I'm shouting to them about the danger but they just ignore me.

This is the only dream of yours I could possibly interpret correctly.

I think you are seeing or perceiving something wrong perhaps in our society or culture or even religion that could endanger people either physically or mentally or spiritually. People ignore you because they literally can't see the danger.

At least that what happened in my case. After 20 years of being Christian, I realize something fundamentally flawed in the practice of the religion. I tried to warn my parents and sister but they kept going. They literally can't see it.

In my mid-late 20s, I'd dream of a secret closet in my house that could only be accessed by me. No one else knew it existed, but it was large and I was always entering it.

You know or can perceive something most people couldn't. Not necessarily spiritual matter but this could be pattern or order that people overlook or can't distinguish from anything else. You may be an astute observer or had powers of observation or critical thinking you may not have realized yet that you could benefit from to discern evil or false teachings or a higher meaning of certain teachings. This dream you have is closely related to your recurring dreams of crashing airplanes.

As for the teeth being pushed I'm not sure but based on the other two, it may be related to the other two as well.

This is your relationship with Christ. If you have a prophetic gift/dreams etc., your place with Him is a secret and is to remain that way. Not everything He shows you and tells you is to be told, until He releases you to do so. This secret place is your relationship with Him.

Spend more time in the Word of God and give less credit to your dreams.

My wife has read through the Bible prox 13 times in the last 13 years and has many, many wild dreams and gives them no credence. She lives a peaceful life trusting only in the Bible.

Warning -- most who say that they can interpret dreams should be approached with caution.

Hi Bob, thanks for weighing in. These are just a few of the dreams I've had out of hundreds upon hundreds. I've had many dreams that gave me such spiritual insight into situations, and I believe the dreams are used for discernment. I spent a portion of my life ignoring the dreams, only to have them happen more often. My dreams are one of the main ways I feel direction and communication from God. While ignoring may work for your wife, I don't feel this is wise for me.

Greetings, JJM33. I am a friend of Solomon's Porch, and she directed me to your thread. Welcome to the Forum.

Both her and I have gifts of interpretation, and this is in particular my specialty. So I will certainly be willing to help you. Just pray that I can be used of God to properly do so for you. Going through quite a lot lately, so I will need the strength and energy to serve you properly.

But you did the right thing to come here.

I can promise you I would NEVER do this. This is an insult to God.

Maybe you should start a conversation with me. If you do not know how, just say so and I will start one for you. But this forum does not encourage dream and vision interpretation in public, so we will need to discuss this in private.

Your friend in Christ,

Thank you! I didn't know dream interpretation wasn't allowed. I'm not sure how to start a private chat. Can you help me?

I will teach you how so you know how to start one with others as well.

Go to a member's avatar box and click on their name. This leads you to a new box pop up with options in blue, one of which says "Start a Conversation." Click on that, and this will bounce you to a new screen, on a line where you can write in the conversation Title. Then just type in your text in the box below, and click "Start" or "Send" or whatever it is at the bottom.

Conversation started.

Hi and I understand but, it is important I think to keep dreams in second place and the Word of God in first place.
Many Blessings Sent.

I think your interpretation of the teeth dream is on the correct track. I do think that rooting yourself in the Word and the Holy Spirit are the most critical items. However, scripture is clear to seek the greater gifts (prophecy - with dreams and interpretations in that vein). And scripture is also clear not to prohibit or despise prophecy. I think you are starting in a really good place, that is recognizing that interpretation is a gift from God, not something someone can just assume. And likewise, the 3rd step of revelation, the application of the interpretation is also a gift from God. I think you are wise in seeking out mentors; but then also taking things openly cautiously based on your own rooting in God's word, His love, and His Spirit.
One thing regarding your dreams, I have a prayer suggestion for you. God's Spirit is called the Holy Spirit for one reason because there are other spirits out there - unholy, unclean, deceiving, false, etc. Because it sounds like you are particularly receptive to spiritual revelation via dreams, pray that God will give you special protection from the enemy; to guard you from spiritual abuse and misuse; that he begin to fully sanctify your dreams as only a venue for Him and His Holy Spirit; that he would set up special guards and protections as you sleep. That your dream life would be utterly His; that He would instruction you as you sleep as He did is beloved servant David. Be blessed.

Not all dreams are from God, but maybe from some late night Chineese food. I have many reoccurring dreams... But the dreams I have that are spiritual, God gives me the interpretation.
Pray your answers come from God and not twisted into something they are not, by someone who does not know, but are guessing.
Peace

Inquire of the Lord, He will tell you what it means if the dream is from Him.
The Lord made known prophetic dreams to Daniel and Joseph.

This is your relationship with Christ. If you have a prophetic gift/dreams etc., your place with Him is a secret and is to remain that way. Not everything He shows you and tells you is to be told, until He releases you to do so. This secret place is your relationship with Him.

In these words I see what I would call a twofer (2 for one) Or toofer (no pun intended) It is painful to hold in that which is not released yet. Sometimes the tongue is such an unruly member that the teeth have to block that which wants to be spoken. The is a time to speak and a time to be silent. And yes, The secret place is your relationship with Him. Be Blessed in Christ Jesus!

Take this with a grain of salt, not as anything firm from the Lord. But this scripture has some of the same imagery as your dream; pray and ponder on it before the Lord and see if He will give you some initial insight regarding the dream.

Jeremiah 31:29-30
In those days they shall say no more:
‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children's teeth are set on edge.’
But every one shall die for his own iniquity; every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.

I'm curious, ub4me. Do you feel there is a place for those who have the gift of interpretation to help others, as described in 1 Corinthians 14:26-30?
