  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

At what point does the baby acquire it's soul?

When it's conceived, when it bursts through the placenta, when it learns algebra? Calculus?

If a little one year old baby dies, when their soul goes to heaven or hell, how old will it be?

Will everyone be the same age they were when they died in the new life?

How is it fair to automatically allow babies into heaven when they were not given the same Earthly test that someone older has?
You ask some very deep questions Ubercow. :)

Ubercow, good points. You should start a new thread, I'd personally very much like to know what christians think of your questions. Especially about what maturity a baby will have in heaven.
It would be an interesting disucssion. I would follow it. :)

Do the thousands of frozen embryos in fertility clinics around the US have souls?
Do you have a soul when you're sleeping in your bed, or when you're unconscious, or how about the times you can't remember anything about where you've been.

So the frozen embryos don't threaten the christian dogma any more than resuscitating a dead man.

This thread reminds me of the old medieval question about angels dancing on pinheads. It may be fun as wild intellectual speculation, but it shows the unsolvable difficulty of trying to mix supernatural concepts with modern reality.
