Isn't it interesting that if you light a match in an environment of pure oxygen you'll blow yourself to bits, and ditto for hydrogen;* but if you light a match under water (H2O) not a thing happens? An interesting documentary about Oxygen.
???No AV; if you light a match in a pure oxygen environment there will be no explosion. The only thing that will happen is the match will burn very brightly. As for a pure hydrogen environment; nothing will happen as hydrogen requires oxygen in order to burn.
Interesting!Oxygen does not burn; it supports combustion.

Some of the worst industrial explosions were caused by large concentrations of dust in the air..even sugar dust will cause a big boom.Oxygen does not burn; it supports combustion.

Still not oxygen burning. Just very rapid combustion caused by the large surface to volume ratios of small flammable particulates. A match does not have that level of ratio so no explosion.
Sadly I get a "This video is private" notice and it will not play.An interesting documentary about Oxygen. A must watch. Enjoy:

It is not that we need oxygen to breath, it is that we need a particular form of oxygen to breath. Pure, molecular oxygen. As you see not everything can be worked out with common sense.
We need oxygen to breath but we can't breath underwater even though there is more than enough oxygen there.
Something will happen, the match will go out.Isn't it interesting that if you light a match in an environment of pure oxygen you'll blow yourself to bits, and ditto for hydrogen;* but if you light a match under water (H2O) not a thing happens?
Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
* QV science's ignorant fireworks display here.
Yup.Something will happen, the match will go out.
