  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

US President Donald Trump made an unplanned stop in Qatar on his way to Malaysia for the ASEAN summit, meeting with the country’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani aboard Air Force One.
The brief encounter, held during a refuelling stop at Al Udeid Air Base, drew regional and international attention as leaders discussed ongoing peace efforts in Gaza.

Trump and Qatari leaders focused on the recent Israel-Hamas hostage deal and broader efforts to maintain stability in Gaza, where Qatar has acted as a mediator in coordination with international partners.
Sheikh Tamim welcomed the US president warmly, saying that, because he was in Qatar, he wanted to greet him personally.

This statement is categorically wrong. President Trump is not the most traveled president in recent history.

Here are the facts.

If this had occured during the Obama administration, many on the right would have been furious.

Did you know part of why he is there is to sign the ninth peace deal in 9 months of his term?

WATCH: Trump dances on red carpet as he lands in Malaysia to witness signing of Thailand-Cambodia ‘peace deal’

Trump joined the Malaysian group, performing traditional dance, and waved his arm after dancing on the spot ahead of the summit with leaders of the ASEAN group of nations and witnessing the signing of an expanded ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, two nations that were involved in skirmish briefly along their disputed border earlier this year.
He is quickly becoming one of the most widely traveled US Presidents in history and virtually signing one peace deal a month on average.

Does it bother you the President of the United State is being hailed so well by our allies, or is it just because it is Donald Trump?

'Dump Trump': Malaysia ERUPTS Against U.S. President; Revolt Rocks Kuala Lumpur Amid ASEAN Meet

Hundreds of protesters flooded the streets of Kuala Lumpur during U.S. President Donald Trump’s arrival for the ASEAN Summit. Chanting “Trump, you’re not welcome!” and “Free Palestine!.” Demonstrators denounced Trump’s stance on Gaza, accusing him of enabling “genocide.” At Merdeka (Independence) Square, protesters waved Palestinian flags, held placards reading “Dump Trump”, and even painted anti-Trump graffiti on city walls.

'Trump War Criminal, Kick Him Out': Seoul Explodes In Support Of Palestine Before APEC Summit

Hundreds of pro-Palestine demonstrators marched through Seoul on Sunday, protesting U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit for the APEC summit. Protesters accused Trump of being “complicit” in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, while also criticizing Western governments, including Germany and France, for supporting the conflict. Marchers carried Palestinian flags, banged drums, and held signs reading “Release Palestinian detainees” while chanting “Trump not welcome here.” Demonstrators warned against international travel for leaders involved in alleged war crimes and called for global solidarity with oppressed peoples. The protest highlighted widespread anger over U.S. and allied involvement in Gaza.

I saw video of Trump's stop in Malaysia I am glad he was able to dance there and seemingly represent America well there in spite of the protests. It is hard to compare the most traveled President because it is limited to really about a dozen who had access to jets.

My favorite overall traveled President was Truman though it was for re-election and domestic.

He "spent a total of four months traveling on a train for his 1948 "whistlestop" re-election campaign. During that time, he logged 31,000 miles, made 352 speeches, and visited many cities and towns across the country. "

I was specifically talking about Trump making an unexpected stop in a country that harbors terrorists and allowing the leaders of that country to board Air Force One. Had President Obama done this, the outrage from many on the right would have been off the charts.

It said perhaps one of the most travled. Not the most travled.

Also the time factor has to be taken into consideration. Clinton, Bush and Obama did that much traveling over a two term 8 year time period.

Why not let them visit Air Force One? They gave us the next one.

Qatar has been a U.S. ally since diplomatic relations were established on March 19, 1972, making it over 53 years of alliance. The relationship has strengthened significantly over the decades, particularly in defense and economic cooperation. Why wouldn't he stop?

Had Obama just finished signing an agreement that brought Arab and Jewish countries together for the first sweeping peace agreement in decades - he would have been applauded also. They probably would have come up with another worship song for him.

Remember:

Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"
Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!
Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country's economy number one again!
Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!

So even while on vacation he probably still puts in a lot of work hours.

This is true for every president.

And all for free since he doesn't take a salary.
Yeah, instead in his first term, he just let a bunch of foreign dignitaries stay at his DC hotel to curry favor and in his second term, is using his likeness to sell merch and cryptoscamps.

Didn’t do him any good as evidenced in my signature.

Not according to reports about Biden who was running for a second term.

A president being on good terms with foreign dignitaries is supposed to be a bad thing.
is using his likeness to sell merch and cryptoscamps.
Which is why he forgoes a salary. So far no one is being forced to buy his merch. So far...

What reports were those?

A president being on good terms with foreign dignitaries is supposed to be a bad thing.

When that good favor comes about because of them patronizing his business? Yes. But nice job disingenuously misinterpreting what I wrote. *thumbsup*
