  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

John 15:14 You are My friends IF you do whatever I command you.

No one is "called" a friend. We are called to be servants.
The disciples became
the Lord's friend by faithfulness.
Luke 22:28 But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials.

John 6:
66
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.
67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life.

A faithful servant, over time, becomes the King's friend.
John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know
what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that
I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Proverbs 22:11 He that loves pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips
the king shall be his friend.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

1 Kings 10:8 Happy are your men and happy are these your servants,
who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!

This is to abide, and overcome
1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the
Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord
except by the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 3
:21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

No one is "given" friendship with the King. It is a reward of faithfulness.
Luke 17:10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which
you are commanded,
say, ‘We are unprofitable servants.
We have done what was our duty to do.’

Luke 12:37
Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes,
will find watching.
Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have
them sit down
to eat, and will come and serve them.

Romans 2:
6 who will render to each one according to his deeds,
7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good
seek for glory,
honor, and immortality.

Psalms 58:11 So that men will say,
“Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
Surely He is God who judges in the earth.”

Join 15:15 is one of my favorite verses
Something we must pursue with all our heart.
Not name it, claim it.
On the path of the child of God...
1 John 3:
1
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called
children of God!
Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be,
but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
