Friends are so special.
I feel very blessed to have Christian friends.

All my friends in real life and here on the internet are long distance.
It does not matter that we do not see or hear from each other daily.
But we know if we ever need each other we are there for each other.

It has been great coming to CF and making new Christian friends.
It is great coming together and finding others with the same mindset.

Thank you, Lord for friends.

Why GOD Gave Us Friends​

GOD knew that everyone needs​

Companionship and cheer,​

He knew that people need someone​

Whose thoughts are always near.

He knew they need someone kind​

To lend a helping hand.​

Someone to gladly take the time​

To care and understand.

GOD knew that we all need someone​

To share each happy day,​

To be a source of courage​

When troubles come our way.

Someone to be true to us,​

Whether near or far apart.​

Someone whose love we'll always​

Hold and treasure in our hearts.​

There are two great friendships mentioned in the Bible.

One was between David and Jonathon who was the son of King Saul.
When David was a young sheperd Samuel anointed him as King Saul's successor.
Even knowing that the two lads become the closest of friends.

The other was between Naomi and Ruth. Naomi was Ruth's mother-in-law.
After both of their husbands were dead Naomi decided to return to Israel.
She encouraged Ruth to stay in Moab. But Ruth responded,
"Whither thou goest, I will go: and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God."

Oh, what a blessing to have Christian friends. So important. I really feel for people who come to the Lord, ready to leave the old world behind, and say goodbye to bad influences, but don't have a Christian support system in tact. This is something the Lord has been putting on my mind lately. You're right-CF is a great resource. There are so many beautiful people here.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for all your beautiful inspiring words about friendship. I have always wanted a really true friend, but I have never found one. My one true friend is Jesus. I have a lot of good friends, but not really true friends. Are true friendships a blessing from God?...or do we need to actively go out and seek those kind of friendships?
I am grateful to have God & Jesus as my friends. Sometimes when times get tough, I feel very empty because I really don't have too many true friends to talk to, so I end up talking to God & Jesus. My family is dysfunctional so I don't have them to turn to. I keep thinking that there is the "right" time for everything in life. And maybe due to my busy schedule everyday, I don't have time to nurture true friendships. Meanwhile, I just count my blessings and thank God & Jesus for all the wonderful blessings in my life and acquaintances. Whenever I see true friends out together and having fun, I am so happy for them and wish I had those kind of friendships.

I think true friends just happen.
You start as just regular friends and then one day you realize it is more.
It is from sharing experiences - good and bad.
It is from having similar interests - certainly views on life.

True friends are a blessings from God.

Any relationship including friendships do take effort and time.
Both persons must be invested in the relationship.

Thank you again for the wonderful song lyrics of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". So true!! I know all things take take time. God's timing is perfect. I trust God that in the "right" time, I will meet "true" christian friends. In the meantime, I am thankful for all the blessings and wonderful people that I encounter everyday. I am enjoying this website. I was involved in another philosophical website that wasn't too enjoyable because most of the people there were more interested in just debating the details of the words of everything and finding fault with others instead of focusing on their own personal "walk" with God. It's nice to have a found a group of people who believe in God and desire to grow spiritually.
