Friend gone astray

Hey guys! Lately, I have developed a close relationship with a guy named Mark. He is a firm athiest. While talking to him the other day, he said that he used to be really into going to Church, and really fired up for Christ. With some other things he said and that we've talked about, I am kinda feeling "called" to lead him back. I know I can't do this on my own, so I ask that you guys pray for him, and pray that God will guide me as well.

This is the first time I really feel "called" to do something directly for God...I feel so *blessed*!

If you want some useful advice: *Don't* threaten him with hell, or talk about how you're just worried he'll go to hell. It's a total non-starter of an argument. Don't offer "proofs" of the existance of God that are supposed to be logically compelling; they aren't.

Show him how God works in your life. Let him know that this is important to you.

Also, you may want to see if you can get him to read some C. S. Lewis books, and not just the ones on theology. If he isn't interested, read them yourself.

Thanks seebs! Yeah, I won't scare him. I haven't really gotten into that much religious discussion with him yet. I'm trying to be patient and wait for the right time.
