  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey guys! Lately, I have developed a close relationship with a guy named Mark. He is a firm athiest. While talking to him the other day, he said that he used to be really into going to Church, and really fired up for Christ. With some other things he said and that we've talked about, I am kinda feeling "called" to lead him back. I know I can't do this on my own, so I ask that you guys pray for him, and pray that God will guide me as well. :)

This is the first time I really feel "called" to do something directly for God...I feel so *blessed*!

Lots of love (and thanks),
Marie

If you want some useful advice: *Don't* threaten him with hell, or talk about how you're just worried he'll go to hell. It's a total non-starter of an argument. Don't offer "proofs" of the existance of God that are supposed to be logically compelling; they aren't.

Show him how God works in your life. Let him know that this is important to you.

Also, you may want to see if you can get him to read some C. S. Lewis books, and not just the ones on theology. If he isn't interested, read them yourself.
