The meaning of agape love [G25] is rather broad. Here, I focus on the selfless aspect of agape love. It goes beyond just emotions to seeking the best for others. It's a stable, logical (non-emotional), and sacrificial love.

John 3:
16 For God so loved [G25] the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Matthew 5:
44 But I tell you, love [G25] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Mark 12:
30 Love [G25] the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

John 13:
34 “A new command I give you: Love [G25] one another. As I have loved [G25] you, so you must love [G25] one another.

The verb form of agape appears 142 times. The noun form appears 117 times, for a total of 259 times. On the other hand, phileo brotherly love (G5359, G5360, G5368) appears a total of 33 times. Eros sexual love appears 0 times. Storge (στοργή) familial love appears 0 times. Its related adjective φιλόστοργος (G5387) appears once. Overwhelmingly, the NT is about agape love.
