To clarify, I didn't ask for proof of religion. I asked how one can determine cause/effect with respect to the supernatural. Which has nothing to do with specific religious belief per se.

Available data — which you can explore in the chart below — extends back to 2150 BC. But we should be aware that most recent records will be much more complete than our long-run historic estimates. An increase in the number of recorded earthquakes doesn't necessarily mean this was the true trend over time.

Which doesn’t tell us a whole lot without a full set of data to compare it with. You only have the trend in this century to really work with. Maybe it’s been more frequent at some point in the past. Maybe it hasn’t. There’s no way to know.

Which would be an excellent critique of evolutionary theories or old earth theories but you would not apply that argument there.

The earthquakes are because of fracking. Also, we didn't know about all earthquakes happening 100 years ago because of a lack of a global surveilance system. The Richter Scale itself was only invented in 1935.

Is this anger or the consequence of mans incompetent management reaping the inevitable results e.g. Climate Change and Nuclear Testing. In Britain there is much to be angry about but there are no earthquakes. There is a very eco-friendly energy policy there and we did all our nuclear testing elsewhere. Also we do not sit on any major fault lines.

My reading of the end times is more that things just fall apart towards the end and various evil characters rise into the end time vacuum to try and take advantage of that and many get misled by their lies and evil and then God comes and rescues us

2004 Indian Ocean, 2005 Sumatra and 2010 Chile Earthquakes (3 of the biggest in the last 10 years) had nothing to do with fracking. Also while there is a link for minor earthquakes how many over 6-7 on Richter scale?

The statistics show a recorded increase since the 50s of major earthquakes.

Earthquakes tend to happen when tectonic plates move. They don't move particularly fast, so major earthquakes are not common. When they do happen, you tend to get more than 1. So guess what? You'll see long periods of apparent inactivity followed by major earthquakes. Wellington in New Zealand tends to get a large quake every 150 years or so. The last one was about 150 years ago. If there's a major quake in the next few years why would we assume that God was angry rather than that there is a cycle of seismic activity being followed?
