  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am writing a report and i need the name of Threrese Little Flower (the canonized saint, not your saintly poster ;)) in French. It's like liseuax or something???? I'm writing this paper right now (it's actually jsut on secularism in France, not really about saints) so the sooner the better. Thanks in advance!

There was also another Marian apparition at La Salette, though I do not believe the visionary has been canonized.

Also, who is the writer of Imitation of Christ

Thomas a Kempis I believe and I'm 99% sure he is a Catholic saint, think he was German and not French though.

I'll throw in Gregory of Tours as a French saint though and if you want Orthodox saints as well you could add St John Cassian.

Last night I ended up remembering his name and looked him up on NewAdvent. The original book is in Frnech and he lived in France.. but I could be off and maybe he was born in Gern, any (I skimmed the article). I also didn't see anything about him being a Saint.

St. Irenaeus of Lyons (he was originally from Asia Minor) and St. Vincent of Lérins are two major figures from the early church in Gaul. St. Hugh the Great, Abbot of Cluny is also another outstanding French saint.

A little known saint, but one whose life story has always touched me is St. Louise de Marillac, who along with St. Vincent de Paul cared for the poor and outcast in Paris.
