Okay, so here’s the deal.

Hubby and I are thinking about going to France and the French Riviera.

Women if you went there, would you go topless on the beach (“When in Rome…")? Men, would you be comfortable with your wives removing their tops?

I wouldn't feel comfortable with Mrs. Durango going topless. I don't believe it would be the Christian thing to do.

If 49erfanette (just keeping with the last guy ) wanted to do it, fine with me.

I don't think that breasts are as sexualized there as here in the States. Women topless on the beach there is an everyday thing.

I would maybe go topless, depending on my mood! Mr. Rain wouldn't have a problem with it ...

In Europe breasts are not as much of a "Sexual Icon" as they are here... although I would have hesitations if too many "americans" were around

I lived in Italy during my middle school years, lived on the beach actually Topless ladies were a common sight. My parents never made a big deal out of it, they just explained that "that's how things are done here" and it was okay. So it never was a big deal, and it definitely wasn't sexual, never got that feeling. It's a completely different mindset than we have here in the US. To them, it's just the body. Period. There were plenty of ladies with tops ON, too, though. So whatever you choose, it's okay. As long as you are comfortable.

I'd go topless without thinking twice. And I have no doubts that my husband would approve. Personally, I think Americans have issues with nudity...but that's a whole different topic.

I don't know if I would, but that's a body consciousness issue, and not a morality one. I don't think that breasts are sexual parts really (except in people's heads) and that it's not a big deal to see them--anymore than feet and ankles.

I know that my husband would not care a bit, though. Women were topless at the beach in Mexico on our honeymoon, and it didn't bother either of us.

The funny thing about European beaches is that yes, you see young beautiful women going topless, but you are just as likely to see their grandmothers right out there with them... I saw whole families out enjoying the sunshine. While it's a little bit, well, surprising the first time or two that you experience this, it's kind of cute. They are not self conscious about their bodies at all...
I don't think that I would go topless, but that's a personal conviction, nothing more.
If you do, make sure that it's in an environment where you don't think that you are causing anyone to stumble... And have fun with your husband!
