  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi,

This question is one that used to worry me as a child but as i grew up (and away from god) it went away. Well as i'm trying to find him again i would like to ask;

Do/will people in heaven have free will?
If they do then how can they possibly spend forever without any sinful thoughts or acts? Not even a tiny one?
Will, or volitional choice, and nature are two different things. Saints in heaven definitely will have "wills" as God could not hold close fellowship with creatures who did not also possess a free will as He does. His will is an unlimited one due to His infinite Being, while ours must necessarily be a finite limited will, but a viable free will just the same. In heaven, the human nature of the saints will there be perfect just as the realm and the God of the realm are perfect, and therefore they will exercise those "wills" without any potential for corruption of choice. What a delightful thought! Just think of a world, which world cannot even be measured on the whole, where it is not possible for a perfect being to perfectly "will" something and then not achieve it! Why hinder the willing of a heavenly saint when the only thing which a perfect saint could will would be something that was perfect? The element of "will", will continue in heaven, but the same cannot be said for our sinful natures.

Heaven is the state of being in perfect union with the Godhead. Like a man and a woman in unison in a dance or procreative act, our wills in Paradise are in perfect harmony with the will of God. Together as on organism, what God's wills is what we ultimately desire, and we realize that God's will is our total fulfillment.

In this world, Christ purifies of of our the delusional, Satanic pride that binds us to the carnal desire to become God's equal. In heaven, the understanding that all that is of the Father is freely given to us through the the Holy Sprit at the bequest of the Son is the antidote to this delusion.
