  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Isis militants break out of prison in Syria after bombing by Turkey

OOPSIE-DAISY!!! Whoops, looks like the Turks freed some ISIS! OOPSIE, Mr. Trump! Oh well, what's a few terrorists?

Fact is that Americans don't care about ISIS or terrorists. Once a year, hypocritical America pretends to be upset about terrorists so they can wear their red-white-and-blue and salute the flag (idol) and pay lip service to "Support the Troops!(TM)" but when it comes down to it they'll defend a president who enables ISIS. One thing is for darn sure, Americans don't care a whit about Christians being killed, much less any other innocent people being killed, unless it's their own loved ones.

Well America, here you go! Free ISIS!!! HOORAYYYY!!!!

Once I also exercised my ‘unmatched wisdom’ by driving a tractor into a ditch. It was of course immediately apparent that I had done the best possible thing, it was a beautiful ditch slide, absolutely perfect, despite what everyone else thought.

Looks like Trump isn't above making Obama's mistake...if it was a mistake. ISIS rose to power when Obama withdrew troops from Iraq. Trump doesn't seem to have learned any different.

Close one eye and pretend only one side of the political spectrum elects foolish presidents.

One day you will realise that bashing Obama is no longer a valid tactic in political discourse.

Good to know that you do support Trump in some decisions.

You disagree with the withdrawal of troops, correct?
I disagree with his allowing Turkey to do their ethnic cleansing campaign. He didn't withdraw the troops - The Turks just attacked US Special Forces yesterday. Ultimately I want our troops out of there but at this time America is responsible to clean up our mess, and that includes keeping the Turks, who are America's retarded pit bull, at bay.

And yes, there are some things I agree with Trump on, but I don't know what in this post you saw that indicates that

You can’t have it both ways. You either agree with keeping troops in Syria, or withdrawing them. Either one is the decision of Trump. So it stands to reason that up until this week you agreed with him having troops in Syria.

It's not that simple. America has absolutely no business being in Syria to begin with. However, since they inserted themselves into there against the will of that country, and created a situation where they were keeping Turkey at bay, they need to carry that out to its end so that more innocent people are not killed.

So no, you're wrong. It is both ways. If someone broke in and settled into a bedroom in my house, they're wrong for doing so. If they made a mess then they have a duty to clean it up and leaving before doing so is another wrong. Breaking in, settling in is wrong and then to on top of that create a mess and then leave it a mess makes it more wrong. That's what America did and that's one example of how America can be immoral and evil.

As for Trump, he has the duty to have America do what's right. I don't care if I agree with him or not - as I said, there are things I've agreed with him on, I don't care. But on this he's wrong to withdraw the troops and leave the situation a bigger mess than what America created by going in there.

We can't remain there forever. Sooner or later the middle east has to straighten out it's own problems. Hopefully when we leave despotic strongman dictators will arise and some semblance of stability will return, as before. Those people are not prepared for democracy or freedom, so let's allow them to return to the way of life that best suits them.

I’m still not following. Is it good or bad to keep Turkey at bay?

I absolutely agree. We need to get our conventional forces out of the Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia....

However, is it not in America's best security interest to support forces (Kurds) with who are willing to go after ISIS and in return, have a place to actually live in peace?
That is the underlying problem facing the Kurds -- the West (UK & US) failed to provide them a homeland when it was redrawing borders after WWII.

Doesn't the blood feud between the Kurds and Turks go back centuries?
