Exactly. They would just come over to the new forum and say that it shouldn't use the name "Adventist."
Well--lol--that should be no problem, because the progs by rights could not possibly use the SDA name since they renounce over 50% of the SDA beliefs. This really is a no-brainer.

May I ask why they would even want to retain the name anyway? Seems to me that if I were a prog--I wouldn't want to be associated with such a corrupted bunch of ingrates that could believe in the IJ, EGW, clean and unclean foods, abstinence of alcohol, living a perfected, God-driven life, the relevance of the 10 commandments, the God-breath inspiration of the scriptures, baptism by emmersion, the triune nature of the God-head. etc. The list goes on and on.

I would think that for those wanting such drastic doctrinal changes within a denomination, that the stigma of carrying such a cultist name would be repugnant. Sort of like trying to change the image of the Nazi regime. But then--I could be wrong.

Not all Progs "renounce over 50% of the SDA beliefs." Maybe you should pay attention to what they actually believe (and they don't all agree on everything either) since you spend so much time in their sub-forum.

They would want to retain the name because THEY ARE STILL ADVENTISTS, whether you like it or not. This forum is not owned by you or by the GC, so you can't force them to stop calling themselves Adventists. If you want them out of the church, you'll have to organize a campaign to get them disfellowshiped. Good luck. I don't think you realize how many Progs there are in real life, and I doubt that the church wants to lose their membership numbers and financial support.

sounds to me "whatever goes". with no disrespect. wouldnt a non-denominational church be a better fit for people who consider themelves with beliefs that dont exactly fix one demoniation?

so does 2 doctrines that you agree with make you a member of a church? if that is the case, i could be lots of different demonations! See what i mean?!
if that is your desire, then I don't have a problem with it.... and yes two beliefs makes me a part of this church... not to mention that I was baptized in this church in 1969... if they don't have a problem, why would you?

what is this ongoing urge to try to place people where you think they should be? Interesting attitude to say the least....

i would imagine that if they knew your current beliefs, the GC would have a problem with it. but that is my own humble opinion.

i think it would take more than 2 beliefs to call yourself a member of a particular group, but once again MHO.

i will let it rest now.

i said i would let it rest, but since something i said was addressed, i will address it.

Really Night, i meant no disrespect. I was just stating my opinion. Thats all. I dont understand how progs view things, and i am entitled to that. it is my opinion. and in asking the questions i did, i am trying to figure things out for myself. so really, i meant no disrespect. But you can believe what you will. :)

you would be mistaken... on another forum that I am a part of the GC representative was reviewing it for trademark application, and the content of said forum was all over the place... the GC rep indicated that content was not an issue....

Basically what you are suggesting is that IF you were in control a person would have to believe in more than two things to belong to your group.... fortunately you are not in control of the church....

that has been your problem from the very beginning and still it has not sunk in with you..... not all progressive adventists believe the exact same thing.... just as adventists don't all believe the exact same thing... you cannot place everyone in a box neatly based on their beliefs.... why you continue to try is beyond me....

I believe that Jesus accomplished salvation for me from start to finish through faith, of which he is the author and finisher of.

What group am I allowed to be a part of?

In Christ alone...

You should not because this is the problem with the human race today. Every problem that the human race faces today is because our focus has shifted from the race to the group.

No need for such hostility Sophia. I am just stating reasonable conclusions.
