I came across this which is very interesting........

"Then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. Matthew 24:10.
As the storm approaches, a large class who have professed faith in the third angel’s message, but have not been sanctified through obedience to the truth, abandon their position and join the ranks of the opposition. By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they have come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy, popular side. Men of talent and pleasing address, who once rejoiced in the truth, employ their powers to deceive and mislead souls. They become the most bitter enemies of their former brethren. When Sabbathkeepers are brought before the courts to answer for their faith, these apostates are the most efficient agents of Satan to misrepresent and accuse them, and by false reports and insinuations to stir up the rulers against them.
The season of distress before God’s people will call for a faith that will not falter. His children must make it manifest that He is the only object of their worship, and that no consideration, not even that of life itself, can induce them to make the least concession to false worship.
At that time the gold will be separated from the dross.... Many a star that we have admired for its brilliance will then go out in darkness. Those who have assumed the ornaments of the sanctuary, but are not clothed with Christ’s righteousness, will then appear in the shame of their own nakedness.
Among earth’s inhabitants, scattered in every land, there are those who have not bowed the knee to Baal. Like the stars of heaven, which appear only at night, these faithful ones will shine forth when darkness covers the earth and gross darkness the people.... In the hour of deepest apostasy, when Satan’s supreme effort is made to cause “all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,” to receive, under penalty of death, the sign of allegiance to a false rest day, these faithful ones ... will “shine as lights in the world.” ... Philippians 2:15. The darker the night, the more brilliantly will they shine." Ellen G. White Writings

I would imagine he finds it interesting because it's happening more and more, especially on the Internet. Have you seen the hate sites that have been put up by some former SDAs? They have become so embittered that they can't see that they're doing the work of the devil. Yet, they believe they're following Jesus' example. How wrong they are!

People are free to disagree, but they don't have to be mean-spirited in order to let people know that.

Would you mind giving me some of those sites you speak of.
Thank you

Amazing quotes.

Solemn!

So is this one

There is one great central truth to be kept ever before the mind in the searching of the Scriptures--Christ and Him crucified. Every other truth is invested with influence and power corresponding to its relation to this theme. . . . The soul palsied by sin can be endowed with life only through the work wrought out upon the cross by the Author of our salvation. {FLB 50.2}

Certainly and the key to understand every statement is by comparing statement with statement. (1 S.M.42)

"Faith is the condition upon which God has seen fit to promise pardon to sinners. Not that there is any virtue in faith whereby salvation is merited, but because faith can lay hold of the MERITS of Christ, the REMEDY provided for sin." Faith & Works,100,101.

Therefore, "The ONLY FAITH that will benefit us is that which embraces Him as a personal Saviour: which appropriates His MERITS to ourselves." Desire of Ages,347.

Another statement from Testimonies to Ministers, p.93 tells us that we appropriate His merits to ourselves by claiming them on a daily basis.

Why would you be interested in visiting hate sites?

I am interested in Truth. If you say there are such I would like to ascertain that by reading it myself. I really have to wonder if what you have read is in your opinion bitter or if you cannot see beyond an honest debate.

And as mentioned already, they aren't hard to find.

I did not find such. So again I would ask for that reference.

Thank you

The true "key" is to go to the scriptures first, and Ellen White or others second. There is no way around that, no matter how carefully you think you have crafted your quotes; and I can say right now that you did give a false picture of things by lifting one sentence out of it's place. Ellen White did not ever intend for her writings to be mis-used like this.
We must show ourselves to be not only Bible readers, but Bible believers. {SpTA01b 11.1}

Which you really don't do a very good job of with the little snippets and half quotes from Ellen White. The Bible is pretty clear on salvation. Whatever enters into the transformation of the individual at the time they are saved is wholly a work of God for man. It is in no wise related to any work which man might do for God. According to the Scriptures, God alone can save, and God alone can keep. All that will have been done when God's saving work is completed will be seen to be "his workmanship." (see Eph 2:10) and many other verses!

Questioning someone's personality like this is not what this thread is about. :o

It should be about TRUTH. Therefore I want to ascertain the truth you say is in many conversations which can be found all over the internet.

I am not interested in playing dodge ball. If you make a statement I ask you in the TRuth that comes from knowing God thru HIs Son Jesus Christ to give me that reference.

Thank you

I find my truth in the Bible and the Bible alone.

I have been in places where the statement made by Castaway57 is taken totally out of context. I would like to know the exact places he says these hateful remarks are made. It is not fair to make statements while the other party has no knowledge therefore no recourse. I don't take the words others say especially if they could possibly be twisted.

Frankly, I find your response to be hypocritical. You want me to provide you with links to hate sites so that you can investigate them to see if they are truly hateful or not; yet, when I provided you with a link to a series of videos by a man of God who does speak the truth, you say, "I find my truth in the Bible and the Bible alone." Thus, you are implying that you have no interest in seeing what Walter has to say. Now how would you know if he is or isn't speaking the truth unless you investigate his claims in light of the Scriptures? And how would you know it's not something God wants you to hear unless you delve into it? And why do you have such a strong interest in visiting hate sites while showing no interest in wanting to hear what a man of God has to say?

No, I won't provide you with links to hate sites. You can interpret that any way you like. It makes no difference to me. I link to sources of God inspired truth, not websites that are replete with libelous statements.

Sorry for taking your time. I think my post tells my whole story: I GET MY TRUTH FROM THE BIBLE AND THE BIBLE ALONE.

May God give you peace and understanding

"I think my post tells my whole story: I GET MY TRUTH FROM THE BIBLE AND THE BIBLE ALONE."(emphasis mine)

OK, so you don't watch the news? You don't read any other books but the Bible? You never watch any seminars/videos or listen to sermons based on the Bible? You don't read commentaries? You don't seek spiritual counsel from others?

What do you mean by the Bible "Alone"?

I think you must find your "truth" in a few other places; I have not said anything re the hate sites. If you do get all your "truth" from the Bible alone; you won't need any links to ANYTHING else anywhere. When another forum member tells you he does not want to refer you to something, because it's so negative and hateful, you don't find anywhere in the Bible that says you can start to denigrate their character, as you have in the post that I questioned. If you have found something in the Bible that you feel "proves" you have a right to say what you want about someone here because they don't post the way you want; please tell us book, chapter and verse number. You are acting like someone who just wants to fight.
