Good passage, it really goes to show that sin is a slippery slope that one finds oneself in, and that by committing one sin one often commits an entire series of sin. It reminds me of how my Drill Sergeants lectured us in Basic Combat Training that breaking one of the Army values breaks them all -- there is no way you can fulfill your Duty, have Respect for the Army, Selflessly serve your country, be honorable, have integrity, and have personal courage to overcome obstacles if you do not have 'loyalty' (the first Army value). It is impossible to do any of the Army values without doing them all.
In that sense, it shows that when one commits a sin, it is the committing of all sins, in a way; by looking at a woman and lusting after her, you are not honoring your father and your mother, you are not giving all your love, all your spirit, all your heart, all your mind to God, etc.
One sin commissions others.
Another passage:
[BIBLE] Ro 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.[/BIBLE]
It goes to show that the law of God is entirely different than the law of Flesh, and that because of the desire to fulfill our flesh because of the sweet feelings it brings us we commit such irresponsibility, and end up serving the law of sin to large extents.
