  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I plan on working until I absolutely can't anymore, but I was wondering who soon before birth did you start your maternity leave?

Also, how hard was it to work the last few weeks? I am at 33 wks right now, and it is so hard to get out of bed and ready in the mornings for work. Then when I get home after working all day, I have no energy. I can't imagine doing all this and having other children needing my time!

Any suggestions on the no energy? Everyone I talk to is wonderful enough to tell me that it only gets worse!!!

I worked part-time as a preschool teacher (major energy buster) until 39 wks and it was HARD. My suggestion is to really get your husband as your cheerleader. It may sound corny, but my husband literally helping me out of bed during those last few weeks and giving me Scripture and "you can do it" encouragement helped me get to work in the mornings. And see if you can enlist another cheerleader wherever you work. I had some good friends who were willing to step in and help me on the worst days. I wish I had more good ideas.

Simply, do not allow yourself to think defeat. Remind yourself often that you can do it or whatever else will give you inner motivation. *hugs* you're almost there!

Thank you all sooo much! I needed the encouragement more than you'll know! I am an accountant, so we have a tax deadline coming up 2 weeks before my due date, so hubby will have to do some serious cheerleading!

I am just so anxious for her to be here and so tired at the same time!
Thankfully my bosses are very understanding.

I worked part time (I got around 20 hours or more a week) til Feb. 14...after that I started my maternity leave at work, and school..and Emily was born on March 25, then I got 6 more weeks. I probably could have worked up til the day I had her, but my job requires me to stand non stop (unless you're on break) and that was really taking a toll on my back.

A friend of mine just had her baby yesterday (sept 13) and she was due Oct. 13! I made sure to let my bosses know this so they will be prepared.

One of them is convinced I am going to go into labor at work, so he has gotten all of hubby's numbers and is READY! It is so funny!

I keep thinking, only 6 weeks (give/take)

My boss was like that too, and had at least one other driver with me the last 2 weeks I worked, just in case.
