Who was he and why is his death so special?

He was a long time poster here.
He was that, and much more.
He was smart, ("scary smart," I used to tell him); he had an extremely sharp wit and drier-than-the-Sahara sense of humor.
He was also a poet and a hopeless romantic. I had the rare privilege of watching him fall in love with his Jessica.
He also fought the system, tooth and nail, to try and get his transplant. The system wronged him in the worst way, and now it's too late.
I was there when he had already resigned himself to death. I would try and talk "reason" into him to fight for his life. He never really saw the purpose...until he met Jessica.
Then he worried over whether he should even allow himself to fall in love, given his prognosis w/o that transplant. It wasn't that he was concerned for himself in any way. On the contrary, he worried about bringing a love that couldn't possibly last, into his life. He worried over the hurt it would cause that loved one. I urged him to give it a go. Happily, he did. He and Jess fell head over heels for each other. It also gave him the will to fight for his life, which he did to the best of his ability.
There is so much more I could write, but I need to pull myself together here as I'm at work, and a mess right now.
Was WinAce special? You have no idea......
