  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi all,

Please pray for the repose of the soul of NN, a religious sister who recently passed away from cancer.

May she rest in peace and rise to glory!

Psalm 129
De profundis. A prayer of a sinner, trusting in the mercies of God. The sixth penitential psalm.

Out of the depths I have cried unto Thee, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
Let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
If Thou, O Lord, shalt mark our iniquities: O Lord, who can abide it?
For with Thee there is mercy: and by reason of Thy law I have waited on Thee, O Lord.
My soul hath waited on His word: my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even unto night: let Israel hope in the Lord.
For with the Lord there is mercy: and with Him is plenteous redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Eternal rest give to her, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.
Amen.

Lord, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray.
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful; grant to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of all their sins, that by our devout supplications they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired. Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.

Prayers for the dear sister and all who knew and loved her. :praying:
Thank you! Just learned after reading her obituary she was a Catholic convert from Lutheranism, and joined the convent 10 years after her conversion.

She was 95. I was surprised! I thought she was 10 years younger.

Haven’t seen her in about 8 years, but she was always very kind and gracious to me!

Peace!
