My Grandma passed away on Saturday June 16th, 2012. I was extremely close with her growing up. She lived in Brooklyn and my family lives in Long Island. We would often visit her and she would often visit us. There are countless, priceless and beautiful memories that I have with her. She was the loving mother of 7 children and 12 grandchildren.
The funeral service was at St. Mark's Church in Brooklyn this past Wednesday. The pastor there knew my Grandma personally. He had led a bible study every Wednesday in which my Grandma had attended. She was passionate about being there for her family and was a devout Christian.
Fortunately, I was able to speak in memory of my Grandma. Three of my cousins and myself presented the eulogy. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, yet the most comforting as well. I still remember every word and every feeling during that time.
So now, during this tragic time, I am no longer mourning but instead comforted. I am comforted because I know where she is now.
Rest peacefully Grandma, as I know you are with the Lord now <3
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 "So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
