I hear so many real stories that Jesus and those blessed by God work miracles and fight demons and the power is real. I think this religion is really irrational but it seems to work and I want to know why. Pray that your God will enlighten me.

But, how will you know whether He has enlightened you? Actually, the first question is, How will you know you have been enlightened? If you don't know where you you are going you won't have any idea whether you have arrived.Amandine said:

Amandine..God bless you..i pray God will enlighten you..you ask why does the power of God work..because it is real..and awesome!..God is powerful..His power is limitless..and yes those who belong to God fight againt the enemy..the prince of demons..satan..all those who belong to God.. fight for God..and fight against the enemy(demons)..the power for us who belong to God is mighty..God lives in us..by His Spirit..and we have extraordinary power..its God's power.not our own.because the truth is..God works His power through us..because we can do nothing on our own..it is by God's power we are powerful..He gives us power...He gives us power to heal the sick..raise the dead..do miracles..overcome adverse circumstances..power to be joyful in hard times..power to endure..power to life a godly righteous life..as christians we have all the power we need to live a godly life..we by God's Spirit have alot of power..thanks to God..but this power is given by God..so i hope i have helped you

If you are asking about the power of Jesus, you are definitely on the right path! He is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIGHT. My experience has borne out His infinite greatness, tenderness, love, and power! His Word is truth.
The Bible teaches that we are beings made up of three parts, the body, the soul, and the spirit. The soul has several functions ("senses") -- the mind, the will, and the emotions. The mind reasons things out, the emotions give us information about how we feel about things, and the will decides what actions we will take.
Christianity seems irrational because, as the Bible says, spiritual things are ascertained by one's spirit, NOT one's soul. The mind cannot "figure out" the spiritual things of God because that is not its function.
Before one comes to know the Lord, one's spirit is, for all intents and purposes, dead, in that it is not in relationship with God (who is Life). However, His Holy Spirit quickens us to His truth, and leads us to understand that His Word (Jesus) is Truth.
Dearest Lord Jesus,
I pray that You make yourself known to this dear seeker, who would like to know you. I pray that You bring people into her life who will make Your face known to her, in unexpected and unique ways. I pray that Your Holy Spirit quicken her spirit to understand that You are truth. I ask you to make yourself known to her as a PERSON, not a religion, not a set of facts, but as a Person who lives always to seek and save that which was lost.
Lord, I pray that the set of circumstances that are operating in her life to lead her to ask this question be settled. I ask that You show your face to her in an unusual way. I pray that You will bring her to a deep and personal knowledge of Yourself. Bless her with Yourself, Lord!

He did that for me - I used to be an atheist.
You said you find this religion irrational. If you would care to state your objections, perhaps we could address them. Otherwise, a study of Christian Evidences or something like Archer's Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties could help.
