For my Dad

I received the phone call most children dread. My dad is in ICU with pancreatitis. He is 80 years old and the doctors are not hopeful of his recovery. Please pray that God's will be done. He is a wonderful Christian man, has been a great father to 6 kids. We know God can heal him. Thanks for your prayers.

Wow, I just prayed for another person with a loved one with this same disease.

Lord descend upon this man with Your special healing and peace. Provide for Your will to be done. Forgive all sins and bind all error and give the doctors anointing to bring this man and his family into Your will whole again. Lord, thank you for a daughter's heart, who lifts her dad to You. Help her in this time to be the embodiment of Your character to her dad. Deliver Your compassion to them all, for Your glory. amen

By Tuesday evening the doctors had prepared my mom for the worst...daddy's blood pressure bottomoed out overnight... But come Wednesday morning, my dad's blood work began to improve. Each day he has made small baby steps in improvement. His blood pressure is now excellent, his oxygen level in his blood is 100% again, and his heart rate is good. He will be getting a feeding tube to help strengthen him tomorrow. The doctors have told us he will be months in the hospital, but PRAISE GOD he's still with us. Thank you for your prayers on his behalf. God heard and answered them without a doubt!!! Continue to lift him and my mom up.

Well, Daddy finished his journey on Monday. He went to be with the Lord at 1:50 am. His celebration service was yesterday. What rejoicing there was in heaven when my Daddy arrived. I was blessed to have him for 80 years on this earth but I'll be even more blessed to have him with me for eternity one day.

I'm very sorry about the passing of your father. It is certainly a true celebration. Your father is home now full of joy. I'm praying for you and your family.


Lord we ask that you bring comfort to this family. Father we thank you for letting Your Will be done, and taking him home to be with You. Let the Spirit of the Lord rest on the homes and hearts of his loved ones. Let them not be full with sorrow but with the peace of knowing that he is safe in Your arms. We praise you father. He's finally exactly where he wants to be. Looking at his Savior's face.

A truly blessed peace to know where our Christian parents have gone on before us. I, too, lost my dad several years ago. He was the most faithful Christian soul. I was so blessed to have had him. The KNOWING that he is there in heaven, happy (..and probably STILL singing out of tune with all his heart) and will be there when I arrive is a comfort I often realize is not one to be taken for granted. You, as I, were blessed with a Christian dad. What a gift to have had on this earth.

Hallelujah! Memorialize your dad by becoming the things you cherished most in him...his legacy through you to all of us. Well, at least that's what I try to do....BIG heartbeats to fill!
