What, if anything would make you believe that God is or at least may be real?

Staff I am not sure where to put this so if it is wrong please move.

I think this is the wrong place. But, I'm not sure where it goes. Christian Apologetics might work, but this thread isn't about defending the faith, at least not directly.

In any case, I don't know what would convince me. Does your god know? Let him execute the plan then.

My answer is the same as Matt Dilllahunty. I don't know what it would take, but if God exists he would know exactly what it would take to make me believe. God hasn't done it yet.

And I say that after looking at lots of arguments and evidence and people's behavior. I haven't seen a good reason to believe there is a God.

For me to be able to talk to my dead relatives face to face and for them to vouch for him.
Well, that does not happen plenty of other things do but not that.

At this point in my atheism it would take physically meeting God or Jesus and under rigorous scientific conditions having a demonstration that this being was actually the Christian god. "Oh, you'll get to meet him someday!" jokes not withstanding. At the very least, again under rigorous scientific testing conditions if a Christian could pray for something that is physically impossible under natural conditions to happen and whatever it is actually happens in such a way that coincidence could be ruled out it may force me to at least consider the likelihood of the Christian god being real in some sense to be greater than zero even if not fully convert me.

Let me asks you this why do you believe He is not real?
I've seen no more evidence that he is real than I have any other of the various gods that people have worshiped throughout history. That is to say that I have not seen any evidence that he created the world or the people in it.

Why do you believe Enki is not real?

Not believing in God is the default position. It took me a long time to go through all the beliefs I had about God to get to that point and accept it. I went through a lot of different religions and beliefs and the common denominator about them was not the supernatural or divine that could be behind them, it was the humans that believed them.

Once I saw it that way, I could not believe in God anymore.

like something showing up that could not happen.

No, it would have to be much more specific than, "This thing happened that, in our ignorance, we believed to be impossible, therefore it is the work of my specific, otherwise undemonstrated being based on nothing more than my faith."

I don't know what it would take, but if God exists he would know exactly what it would take to make me believe. God hasn't done it yet.

This is exactly my philosophical view as well.

If there really were an omnipotent deity that desired my belief/worship/whatever, they already should know what to do to get that.

Since they haven't, then they either don't want my belief or they just don't exist in the first place.
