Hello, brothers.
For someone who is (hopefully) seeing his final days of the so-called "cage stage," I was convicted and challenged in my Scripture reading today by this passage:
"A fool’s displeasure is known at once, but whoever ignores an insult is sensible."
—Proverbs 12:16 (HCSB)
As someone who is perhaps the only Reformed Christian among my family and friends, I have found it hard to not be quick (and sometimes aggressive) to respond to opposition. Especially on social media, I always feel the need to respond to everything I read, to the point of literally spending hours arguing with people who will probably never agree with me. Of course, this passion comes from the fact that I really see Reformed theology as the purest representation of the gospel (and, consequently, all other systems as a perversion). However, many times this passion also comes from my fallen desire to be right and prove others wrong.
Anyway, this passage challenged me. It will be a topic of prayer in the coming days and weeks.
Thank you all for your continued contention for the truth.
