Hi!
I homeschool our nearly 10yodd, 7yods, 1yodd. Our 10dd has wanted to be a pediatrician since 4yo and a missionary (treating kids around the world) since 6yo. We had her take the ISATs in 4th grade this year and just got the results. She tested at grade 10.5 for science!
So, now I'm trying to figure out the best way to challenge my 5th grader in science.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Rachel

Our zoo also offers science classes specifically for homeschoolers.
Try museums and planetariums.
Sometimes they offer things to challenge children, or you can ask those who work there for ideas. I was not homeschooled, but I remember taking classes through our local museum as a kid.
Space Camp or other science camps are out there as well.
The aquarium near our home has questions on one wall, and you must search the other areas for the answers to the questions.
Contact NASA--they often have ideas and/or programs for kids.
Talk to the local hospitals/physicians and see if they may be willing to either give informative tours, or allow your child to shadow them for a few hours.
Tours of manufacturing plants can be very informative as well, and some offer these.

Hope some of these might help!
