CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I remember being sick once as a child. On the day I started feeling better I went into our backyard on a cool spring day and walked among the various plants and things. It was sort of healing.
In my grandmother's hometown I met a kid my age and the first time we hung out he took off his shoes in his backyard garden among some plants. We went looking for frogs in various ditches around the neighborhood. He reminded me of Tom Sawyer. At the end of the day he found the shoes he had "hidden" in his backyard. I guess his mom didn't like him to go barefoot. Years later, his little brother used to go barefoot all the time as well, even on the streets. I never understood it, though.
They say now that it's good to go barefoot sometimes. Even for runners.
