  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Follow the Lamb
Thursday February 10, 2011

“4These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.” (Rev 14:4)

Definitions for better understanding of the meaning of these verses:
1. Pure- a. unmixed with any other matter
b. free from harshness or roughness and being in tune —used of a musical tone
c. free from what vitiates, weakens, or pollutes
d. free from moral fault or guilt
2. Firstfruits- the earliest products or results of an endeavor

Purity is not just sexual in nature. It has to do with mixing in anything from this world or our flesh that will cause our lives to be out of tune with God’s song. It is whatever will weaken or pollute our relationship with the Lord as well as our obedience and witness for Him.
We (if we have genuine faith) are the firstfruits of the endeavor of Christ when He died on the cross for our sins. Our lives should show the results of what He did for us in gaining victory over our sins and making us pure in God’s sight, making us at peace with Him.

“14May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which£ the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation. 16Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule, even to the Israel of God.” (Gal 6:14-16)

“Lord, I pray that I will keep myself pure, follow you wherever you go, never lie, and always be blameless. I pray that my faith will be proved by all of my deeds. I pray that I will consider all of my sins dead and that I will submit every area of my life to you and that you will reflect your righteousness, love, compassion, grace, mercy, justice, etc in and through me and touch the lives of all that you put in my path. Burn away every impurity in my life that would get in the way or would in any way cause my life not to match what I believe. Create in me a clean heart, O God and make me steadfast. Make me more like yourself each day! I love you, Lord! Amen!”
