i dont like Contemporary christian at all though.....just a few Christian Metalcore bands....the only christian Rock bands i still listen to is....Spoken, Switchfoot....but thats it....that i remember of.

agree there. Actually, I think titleing music "christian" is pretty stupid. How can a religion be a genre? In fact, I actually wound hardly define the bands I listen to as such for those reasons. No, I do listen to some CCM, but I believe the genre is the farthest from what God desires his people to be involved in. As CS Lewis said, we don't need more Christian books, we need more good books by Christians.

they play their own guitar, so they can have credit for being called rock [pop rock, yes]. If they made somebody else play their music and took all the credit & glory for it, then they'd offically be pop divas. ...but not yet.

I meant Barlow Girl [just in case that's wasn't clear]. I don't care what anybody calls Plumb.

If those are the only Christian scene bands that you're listening to, it's no wonder you don't like anything in the CCM box. I mean those guys are pretty good, but not the best. There are better bands that are associated with the Christian scene, but usually you have to dig to find them.

If those are the only Christian scene bands that you're listening to, it's no wonder you don't like anything in the CCM box. I mean those guys are pretty good, but not the best. There are better bands that are associated with the Christian scene, but usually you have to dig to find them.

I will defend the fact that Switchfoot is some of the best indie-flavored alt. rock out there. Little surpasses them in their genre, they are one killer live show too. As far as spoken, they're pretty generic boaringness... the guy screams like a hoarse female seal. I mean, they have about two okay songs, but other than that they are just so-so.

mewithoutYou deserves you taking a look. Theres little that surpasses those guys artistic creativity and Aaron's poetry. A new metal band that is by no means the greatest or most original, but is one I am crazy into lately, is Oh, Sleeper. One listen to Vices Like Vipers tells all.

I don't have anything againist Switchfoot or Spoken. I know they're both good bands, so I don't mean to say anything againist them but it does get better than just them.

*side note: Spoken is great in concert, probably better live than on cd.

Well i Agree with you...but there is also such a Genre as 'Religous', and i still dont agree with the other of you that there are better Christian bands out there because i know that, but now its just too late for me to get into anymore bands like that, Switchfoot and Spoken is how i started with christian rock so

I know night... those turn me off... they're as bad as most mainstream, as DH get in A.P. DD is, no offense to you or your post, one of the worst bands I have ever heard and one of the most miserable to listen to. Red has their moments, yet musically they just cannot veer from the all-too-popular vein. Night, try out T&N, they're not a christian label, yet they sign some faith-based artists (some will argue this, but it is the stance of the label.)Spoken is under it, lately they've signed quite a few bands that get quite a bit of good indie-mainstream exposure (an oxymoron ... meat A.P.). Showbread kills me.... forever and ever !

Ignore the fact that they signed some nasty bands... they have some talent in their previous and esp. former roster. Check out the list of former bands at wikipedia...

KIDS ain't bad... lyrically they're pretty good... but they're kinda pumped up pop for tweens.

Solid State is Tooth and Nail. SS is a division of the same label, it focuses on the post-hardcore/metal/"-emo" genres. As of late, they have signed better people. Oh, Sleeper rocks my vans off! (SHOWBREAD is SS )

I will say that mewithoutYou still is among the best bands that the label has yet signed!

Another fan of Flyleaf jumps in. Lacey Mosley's voice is just..mmm..mesmerising... They had a concert in Riga last month while they were touring Europe with Korn.. I wish I could have been there..
