  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

They are mainly located on the Utah/Arizona Border in the Towns of Colorado City, AZ and Hilldale, UT. There is another group in Mona, UT I do believe. I drive through Colorado City everyday on the way to work and the polygamist are always seen shopping at the local Costco, Lins, Wal-Marts, and other such stores.

They do indeed practice polygamy and hold to the absolute teachings of the early LDS church. Once the LDS church wanted to look more appealing and attract more members, they left behind their fundamentalist views and the current CoJCoLDS was born. The diffrence is that the FLDS church follows the words of their first prophets to the T while the CoJCoLDS follow the words of their modern prophets.

I dare say that if Joseph Smith and Brigham Young walked the earth this day, they would probabley be members of the FLDS church instead of the CoJCoLDS. That is my opinion but it is supported by the fact that the FLDS obey the words of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young abosutely and are not worried about trying to make themselves look more like an Orthodox Christian Church.

Christ guide you,
Jed

You forgot Texas

They do indeed practice polygamy and hold to the absolute teachings of the early LDS church. I, of course, sincerely doubt that. For one the (polygamous) women back then were far from sitting at home, having as many children as possible. Many went out for careers, considered at that time for men only, and the majority were very outspoken. Hardly the case in FLDS groups. Boys were not kicked to fend for themselves...again not the case. Polygamous marriages then were the minority in marriages...again not the case. Children were not encouraged to be pulled from school and left ignorant...not the case in FLDS. And these are just socially. Doctrinally the divide only grows.

I dare say that if Joseph Smith and Brigham Young walked the earth this day, they would probabley be members of the FLDS church instead of the CoJCoLDS.

For the reasons above and a thousand more I sincerely doubt that.

With luv,
LL
