The way I look at it, to deny what God's own Creation, as Created by God and what God is showing us thru His Creation..it's that denial of what God Created is where the deception lies.

I hate to rain on your parade but before the OT was even written the Babylonians, Sumerians, Egyptians and Canaanites who were polytheists believed in a flat earth and solid dome as well.-Like i wrote, they are in the upper part of sky/raqia (dome, expanse, vault, firmament) exactly where The Bible states God placed them. When God created these lights along with the other two great lights sun and moon.
They are residing in a space that is diving two large bodies of water one above the expanse and one below.
So by what higher authority than God are you claiming that the creation account in Genesis 1 is not a truthful witness of God's creation. Which is described in Genesis. 1.

What it tells you who ever wrote Genesis was very much influenced by this prevailing view which was common in the region.
If the OT is an inviolable source then you what do make of women who were victims of sexual assault who do not cry out for help where they could be heard should be put to death along with the assailant.
"sky" is not a place, it is a direction. It is the direction you are looking if you are not looking at "ground". Or in other words, it is the direction you are looking when you are looking through transparent things like air and nothing else.

The atmosphere extends a few hundred miles (or so, the edge is ill defined) and there is plenty beyond the edge.

But why? If God's creation shows something else, then either the Bible is wrong or God's creation is wrong, so either one is lying to us.

Have you ever been to a doctor or taken a prescription, gotten a vaccination? DId Jesus tell you about those before you did them?-If anyone who holds to the science version of God's creation. The only way i will believe in some other description, than is what is described in The Bible. Jesus will have to personally tell me, science is accurately testifying to His creation.
There is no such thing as a 'science version of God's creation'. There's God's creation, and a literal reading of the Bible. The two are very much in opposites of the other.
