What's silly about it? It's only about 60 miles away. And it's big enough. So why can't you see it?

Maybe we could from another advantage point, but not from where I live.

What difference would that make? If you have a clear view across the Irish sea towards Ireland then you should see it with those magic lenses of yours. You should also be able to zoom the moon back in after it sets across the sea. I challenged you before to do this but you remain silent on that.

How lovely, I too live on the coast line and have seen this many times, ships that come back into focus.
I am not talking about little sailing yachts that might be too far away to see before they reach the horizon. I'm talking about large tankers and cruise liners, which can still be easily seen at the horizon (unless it's foggy!) but which disappear as they go beyond the horizon. Your binoculars cannot bring things that have gone beyond the horizon "back into focus" as you put it.

But this is true ships do disappear over the horizon b/c this is what we see but if you were to zoom in in with a camera the ship comes back into full view, proving there is no curvature. Dean has proved this himself & Rob Skiba.. You can prove this by doing it yourself.
This has been explained many times.

If you are watching a boat sailing away into the distance, at some point you will no longer see it. There are two possible causes: it is too small to see (due to perspective), or it is beyond the horizon. Whichever comes first. In the former case, zooming in will being the boat back into view. In the later case, no amount of zoom will bring it back into view.

Looking at an island (or a headland further along the coast) is a better experiment. Visible from the top of cliff but not at sea level. The island has not moved, so will look the same size. If the earth was flat, the island would still be visible at sea level as well as from the top of a cliff or nearby hill. Usually you will actually be closer to the island at sea level, so it should look slightly larger - not 'invisible'.

If someone's reading of the Bible means that the earth must be flat then either the Bible is wrong, or their understanding of the Bible (in just this area) is wrong.

And I have done exactly that. Both of these photos were taken from the same distance to the island. High elevation (approx 190ft above sea level)

Low elevation (approx 20ft above sea level)

No zoom necessary to show that the surface of the sea is indeed curved. The lower regions of the island are obscured by the sea at the lower elevation from where I took the photos.

I have even offered to take @Apple Sky (and her husband of course) to this location so that she can see for herself! And I'm sure her husband would love to meet my amateur astronomer brother as he has a common interest!

But no, apparently they are both too unfit to go.

Whichever comes first

The chicken or the egg ^_^

Only kidding .........

Well the Bible's certainly not wrong & neither understanding it is wrong so (shrug)

Watch a ferry as it heads towards Ireland. Then you just try to zoom it back in as it enters Dublin Bay!

I have watched a ferry & I have zoomed it back in to focus.

In Dublin Bay? Then you should be able to see Ireland....it's much bigger than the ferry!! In fact if you can see the ferry by the time it's even half way across, Ireland should be easypeasy to see. It's that big that you can't miss it!

Who's reality, yours ?
There is only one reality. And it's not what you claim! It is exactly as Barry Wilmore emphatically and unequivocally states according to what he has seen with his own eyes. He's not looking at photos. He's not believing what others say. He has seen the earth as it is.

"I can guarantee you. The earth is not flat" That is what he says based on reality that he has seen with his own eyes. Not the pathetic rants of Odle.

Do you now call Barry Wilmore, astronaut, church elder and Bible believing Christian, a liar for saying this? Because if you insist that the earth is flat in the face of his eyewitness testimony, that is what you are effectively doing - calling him a liar.

This may well be but how far were they up pluss at 6:39:10 you can see the harnesses on his back.
??
So you think he shouldn't be anchored to anything? You think he should just get out of the rocket and float off into space?
