Scientists don't tend to tell you what they believe, but what they know to be true. And that will be because they have data, observations and experiments which point to that conclusion.

The flat earth model can account for why the sun is never visible in Antarctica during Winter and why it is subsequently visible 24 hours of the day in the Arctic during its Summer, but it is completely broken for the Summer in Antarctica. In the Arctic it is currently Winter, and the sun is not visible at all during the day.

Flat earthers have truthfully stated over and over that a 24 hour sun is impossible in Antarctica. So what is the "simple explanation" as to why there is currently a 24 hour sun in Antarctica?
Using Occam's Razor, the answer is that the Earth is a globe. It explains everything from the present phenomenon to seasons, tides, the moon's phases, solar and lunar eclipses, star trails, intercontinental flight times, sea and air currents etc. and is completely consistent across all of them.
