Check sunsets, seasons, eclipses, gravity, meteorites, satellites, the ISS, flights in the southern hemisphere, different skies in different hemispheres etc. You have still quite a problem to explain these basic things.

Its not strange. Greco-Roman culture is the root culture of Europe and therefore the Greek and Latin languages are traditional languages of science.

Greek is also the language that the New Testament was written in.

All cultures are mixed. Some aspects are good, reflecting that we are made in the image of God. Some aspects are bad, as a result of sin. England (I'm restricting my comments) has a strong biblical heritage but we are now a post-Christian country.
