No I’m not doing that. I’m going on evidence and observation. If reality contradicts what you think God is saying, them God is not saying it.

The earth cannot be a circle because it has height and depth, which a circle does not have. I don’t see any mention of a globe, so I don’t believe it’s saying the earth is a globe either. So that verse must mean something else.

By the way check out the true context of Job 38:14 by reading it in context. Read Job 38:12-15. It has nothing to do with the earth’s shape, but how morning changes the earth like a seal changes clay. It’s nothing to do with the creation account.

The Bible - the King James Bible, which you claim teaches us all about the earth - says that God will bring his people up from the depths of the earth and the depths of the sea.
You say, in your own words, that the deepest hole ever dug was around 40,000 ft deep - which is a few miles.
How do you draw a circle which is a few miles deep? You can't.
You could make a pile of newspapers 4 miles high, draw a circle on the top sheet and then try to cut through the lot. That would not then be a circle.

Sorry, but if you insist that you do not belong to a cult, forget Dean Odle, Eric whatshisname and YouTube - use the brain God gave you and think for yourself. You ARE capable of doing that because every so often you start to really engage with what we are saying and ask intelligent questions.
But then you revert to your comfort zone. You haven't answered the points we make, you don't want to test anything for yourself - you don't even listen to your husband when he says that the earth is a globe and he has seen evidence of that through his telescope.
What's more, you dismiss anyone who has evidence that contradicts your belief as a liar, deluded, a freemason or anything else you can think of.
Jesus said that anyone who accuses, persecutes or makes life difficult for his followers, is doing it to him, too - yet you're quite prepared to slag us all off and make accusations with no evidence at all.

Mathematician John Lennox, who has debated "that Dawkins man", has often stated that the mere fact of us being able to "do science", is evidence of God. There are others who claim mathematics is proof of God

It’s mind boggling to me that you say such a thing. Christians who know the earth is a globe are people who have investigated. They have taken an interest in God’s wonderful creation & delved into its detail & workings.

My amateur astronomer brother is throughly and always amazed at God’s creation, its immense size which is beyond human understanding. Its complexity which reflects God’s glory and majesty. And it all enhances his faith.

Yet you seem to do none of that. You listen YouTube videos by people making claims about the Bible. You don’t investigate those claims, you just accept them. That’s not investigating. That’s blind faith in the person on the video.

So you needn’t accuse any Christian who knows the earth is a globe of fearing investigation. That’s just sheer ignorance on your part.

I was not saying that the Bible defines what a cult is. But people (christian) who identify groups as a cult use The Bible as their source in labeling a group as a cult.

Which two of the main areas used, is who do they say Jesus is and do they add extra revelations that are sourced from outside of The Bible. A third one is there is usually a charismatic leader involved, but not always.

I see no need to prove the existence of God, outside of the evidence provided by and in The Bible.

No, a cult is a group, belief system or way of life that centres, mostly, around one person who is pushing a particular product, or ideology.
So a pop, film or sports star who advocates veganism, alternative medicine or anything else can have a cult following. Like Gwyneth Paltrow and Goop or celebrities who swear by anti-ageing products, for example.

In religious cults, people become convinced that they, alone, have the truth and that anyone who says otherwise is dangerous and trying to disrupt the group's belief or way of life.
Christianity started as a Jewish cult. Jews knew they were God's chosen people and were awaiting their Messiah, then suddenly Jesus of Nazareth comes along, heals people, criticises the religious establishment and people follow him and say that he is the Messiah. After his death, his followers even start saying that he is alive again - and that those who believe in him can become God's children. Jews used to persecute us for being a cult.

Christian cults are those who claim they follow the Bible and Christian faith but don't because their own leader has told them otherwise. So "Rev" Moon claimed that he had met Jesus who told him the Moon had to become the 2nd Messiah because Jesus had failed in his mission. Is that true?
No, because the Bible says otherwise.
JWs, Mormons etc. do not believe in the Trinity because their leaders tell them it's false. IS it false; no, the Bible teaches it.
Several cults have actually been found guilty of brainwashing - e.g. JWs have been known to let their members have as little sleep as possible, cut them off from their families and friends and bombard them with teachings by their leader. Why? So the members will be unable to think and question for themselves and will not be in contact with people who present an alternative argument to the group.
Flat earth teachers are just as capable of having a cult following, and indeed presenting cultish behaviour, as anybody else.

The Bible does not teach this kind of controlling, coercive behaviour.
