He said that if there is a 24 hours sun at Antarctica, the earth is a globe. He knows that they went on the trip ad filmed the 24 hour sun - that is why he is trying to discredit it.

And sorry, but it doesn't actually matter that to you they've proved nothing.
The Flat Earthers who went saw the 24 hour sun, and some have been humble enough to say, "we need to think again". They may well still believe the earth is flat, but they are honest enough to admit that they can't deny a 24 hour sun because they saw it."

I said that a loss of credibility would lead to a loss of followers - although if he were to say, "I'm so sorry. I made a mistake, the earth is a globe, thank you for showing me the error of my ways", he would probably gain respect. Just as you did when you said that.
And if he were to lose followers, hits on his website etc, that would lead to a loss of income - I probably should have said "some loss of income.".

That is not at all the same as saying that he is ONLY in it for the money.

His mistake was to publicly say, "If there is a 24 hour sun in Antarctic the earth's a globe. Let's do this; let's go and find out."
And then when they returned from an expedition which he had declined to go on, with footage of a 24 hour sun, he attacked it as fake.

& has no loss of respect from his followers.

He would have had far more credibility, and respect, in my eyes if he had been able to say, "ok, there is a 24 hour sun, I need to think about what it means for the shape of the earth."

He knew the trip was happening, he knew he'd been given a free ticket and had to tell them that he wouldn't be able to go.
He knew that he had previously said "if there is a 24 hour sun at Antarctica, the earth's a globe" - and if he had forgotten, there are YouTube clips of the interview where he said it.
He knew that they came back from the trip.
He knew that they not only had footage of a 24 hour sun but that members of the exhibition were interviewed etc.
All he can do by way of response is claim that the expedition never happened, and his besotted little followers are agreeing with him and not asking difficult questions.

But people who heard what he said and who aren't blinded by his Flat Earth teaching are able to be a little more objective.
He said - and is on record as saying - if there is a 24 hour sun in Antarctica, the earth's a globe.
Then when people came back from the Antarctica expedition, which he had turned down, and even Flat Earthers were saying "there is a 24 hour sun", he accused everyone of faking evidence which he could have seen for himself.

If that had been a Globe Earther who was saying one thing ("let's go to Antarctica to see for ourselves") and doing another, you, and other FEs would be very quick to criticise. But if Dean Idle says it; it's profound and true.

a) If you're unable to see that he's being inconsistent, if you're afraid to consider that he can make mistakes or maybe even lie, then that is nothing more than blind devotion - some might say it's evidence of brainwashing.
And you did once doubt him, when you were humble enough to admit that you had been truly moved by Charles Duke's Christian testimony. Sadly you then went back on that, started saying that a Christian was lying and pledged unthinking allegiance to Dean Idol again.
b) I'm not surprised if he is the only FE pastor you know - barely anyone holds such a ridiculous position as you do. There are Flat Earthers, yes - but you have contradicted another FE-er on this forum and don't trust the very society that was set up by Flat Earthers, for Flat Earthers.

Who would that be ? There's only one other f/e'r I know of on here and that would be @d taylor & the only dispute I had with him was over the ISS.
