Flat Earth: Why doesn't a Plane's altitude meter (gyroscope) pitch up and down if it's a round earth

I asked:
By observation;
  • Near the end of June the sun appears to circle directly overhead to someone standing on the Tropic of Cancer, roughly between Florida and Cuba
  • Near the end of March and near the end September the sun appears to circle directly overhead to someone standing on the equator
  • Near the end of December the sun appears to circle directly overhead to someone standing on the Tropic of Capricorn, roughly through Australia.

On your flat earth representations, the circles the sun makes are smaller in June and larger in December and back to being smaller the following June.

One simple question, and please just answer in your own words. No links, no quotes from links.
How do you account for the changes in the size of the suns's circles?

And you respond with a video?!? Did you not understand "please just answer in your own words. No links, no quotes from links."

Hi,

More Hollywood stuff???

LOVE,

Yes of course, very easy to tell too. Goto the 2:40 minute mark (watch the top right background for the next 10 seconds very carefully). You will see the background shift...just the background. This indicates it's a composite overlay.

Also, before the 2:40 mark, the engines are shut offs. Yet, the vibrations in the rocket should translate to shifts in the trajectory in zero gravity. Yet we do not see that happen.

It's completely fake.

Hi,

I don't see your 2:40 mark background shift.

Hi,

Caught your observation. Are you aware of how rockets steer? That is no background shift, that is a rocket correctional shift.

How are rockets sreered? The nozzles tilt. Tilting nozzles change the rocket position, thus the rocket moved, not the background.

These were things observed before Christ was born, and from it, the ancients knew the Earth was round. Roman coins exist, showing the Earth as a sphere.

They were smarter than some people living today.

It's a sad commentary on our species when some people can't even accept the fact that space travel is possible.

Yeah, aren't planets and moons round because they're massive enough to have been rounded by their own gravity (hydrostatic equilibrium)? That itself would negate us living on a piece of flying space toast.

They seem to do a very good job of it.

So, just out of curiosity, what's your expertise in space flight? I mean, you're perfectly willing to tell us all these things which obviously show it to be faked footage, but half the time it's pretty obvious that you have no idea what it should look like, you're just going off intuition. And your intuition is dead wrong.

@AceHero : That's exactly why they are round.

Every object that has mass, also has gravity. This has been proven here on Earth. The more mass something has, the more gravity it has. Gravity always comes from the center of the object in question.

If you take a huge flat disc, what is going to happen, is that gravity will override the strength of whatever the disc is made out of and the edges of it will curl in on each other and you will eventually end up with a ball because the force of gravity pulling the edges towards its center is greater than the resilience of the material the disc is made out of.

The Ball (or sphere) is the only geometric shape known to Man that can sustain itself no matter what size/mass it is, in fact the bigger it is, the more perfect round it tends to be because it has more gravity and thus everything in and on this object is pushed towards making a perfect sphere.

And there's also the fact that anybody can grab a telescope, take it apart to make sure there's no government conspiracy cameras and other such things in there, put it back together, take it out and look up into space at night, and see that every single object in space is round except for maybe smaller asteroids (most of those seem to be vaguely round, egg-shaped, etc).

How would a huge flat disc sustain itself, but yet have Gravity? Why would it be the one-and-only object in the entire universe that is different than everything else?

Again, Flat Earth just keeps raising more questions and problems against itself while Round Earth keeps answering all of these, and doing so quite easily.

EDIT: I'll also note that @morse86 still hasn't explained how/why we have the Equator and the alternating seasons of the Northern and Southern Hemisphere, things we've observed, documented, and predicted with pinpoint accuracy. The "Sun is close and rotates above the earth like babies' toys above a crib" doesn't work to explain what we actually see in practice on Earth today.

In fact, Round Earth people have constructed many models that are down to the very day in specifics and they match, meanwhile, Flat Earth people throw up an image or two... but they don't tell you where the Sun/Moon is in each day of the year to explain how exactly seasons work in their model, nor do they explain how you see what you see in the sky at various parts of the year.

It's completely fake.

Which is worse - fake, unresponsive or evasive?

morse86,
is the moon flat too?
the sun?
how do you explain lunar phases with a flat moon?
how do you explain the heat you feel from a flat sun?

the earth has curvature, there is no question about that, and this curvature is practically constant everywhere on earth.
this can only lead to one possible conclusion.

i'm actually curious as to why you would try to sustain your stand.

I didn't post anything related to the flat earth society OR landover baptist. Both are shill organizations designed to make Flat Earth look like a joke.

You mean it isn't???

Hi Morse,

It looks like those two cameras, one on the rocket to launch a Mars weather satellite, and the one for Orion, show indisputably a round earth.

Your observation that the bacground shifted in the launch of a Mars Satellite, is correct, but it is the steering nozzles that changed the course of the rocket that you noticed.

Would you be willing to share yet, why you held to that flat earth idea so long and so forcefully for, or not?

LOVE,

Science has never been my strong suit, but I do have a casual interest in astronomy. I'm glad I can make myself feel smart today!

And Ceres, the largest known asteroid in the known Solar System (which the Dawn probe is currently orbiting) is round, and is considered to be the smallest known dwarf planet.

Of course the flat earthers would simply say these images are fabrications. It's a very easy way to get out of having to actually explain yourself.

how do you explain lunar phases with a flat moon?

It'd also be interesting to hear the rationale for the tides.

True...I suppose the flat earthers would respond by saying a flat earth is round as well. But planets and moons are not pancakes, contrary to their odd, odd beliefs.

Just to be a little more precise...
  • A frisbee is round (but not flat).
  • Ceres, like the earth, is a spheroid.

When most people say "Round", they are referring to a ball-like shape. Yes, "spheroid" is the technical, correct term for it, but the usual slang is "ball" or "round".

When something is flat with a circle-like shape, they usually call it a disc.
