Genesis does not explain how he did it.

My point was that Genesis does not say how God created the world; only that he did.Nobody was on about how God did it.
It's not sinful to try to find out about the amazing world that God made,
So are scientists and astronauts.I totally agree & that's exactly what I am doing.
I have a skylight in my ceiling which consists of a tube with a reflective inner surface coming down from the roof and a diffuser at the bottom of the tube on the ceiling. It is a 'light' which uses reflected sunlight to illuminate our bathroom.-Well would you ever call a lighthouse a reflector house or would you install a reflector in a room to light the room.
If you have an example of a light reflector being considered and refereed to as a light . Can you provide an example, because i am not familiar with a reflector being thought of as that way, as a light.
No I didn’t say that, merely that the meaning of ‘light’ is not diffinitive. It is vague, it neither defines the origin of the light sun nor the origin of the light of the moon. It just say ‘lights’ without defining either object as self-luminous.

You know, some have even come to believe in God through studying his creation - just as the Psalmist said; "the heavens declare the glory of God. " Psalm 19:1
That has nothing to do with the shape of the earth.
My position is that I agree with the late John Stott who said; "the Bible tells us THAT God made the earth. I tend to believe it's the job of scientists to tell us HOW."
Genesis does not tell us HOW God created - how he made ladybirds chaffinches, owls, whales, hippos, eagles, worms etc. Or how he decided some creatures should have feathers and others fur or scales. Or how he made the sun and what its properties are - etc etc. It is not a science textbook; its purpose is not to go into scientific detail.
God made the world - GOD. It was not made by angels, cherubs or a god, nor was it a chance result which happened when 2 atoms collided. The world has a maker.
I've been out walking this afternoon. It's a bit windy but the sun is shining, the bluebells are out and trees are covered in delicate blossom. Birds are singing; I had hoped to see a kingfisher, but didn't.
The world around us is beautiful - and as someone has said, we can say "my Dad made that!"
And yet it seems that all we Christians can do is argue with each other about the nature of that creation, how exactly God did things. If something is not mentioned in Scripture, apparently it didn't happen;. If someone doesn't believe a verse literally, they are doubting Scripture etc etc.
It's true what they say about the devil not needing to attack Christians - we do that ourselves.

You asked, I delivered, and as usual you make excuses.-Actually it is just capturing the sunlight and directing it into your room. You really would not need a reflective inner surface.
If I remove the poetic & mythological interpretations from Genesis 1, I’m still left with three basic possibilities.It is only vague to people who believe what science says over what The Bible says. So they look for excuses, light actually does not mean light, it can not mean light because science says so.
It is basically like the people who believe it takes more than belief in Jesus to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life. They say John 3:16 does not tell a person how, it is to vague or the verse is to hard to understand. They say that not because the verse is actually hard to understand, they say that because they do not believe what the verse is saying. They believe it takes more than belief in Jesus.
That’s what I would call ‘projecting’!+ And the firmament shows his handy.
This Psalm 19:1 is on Wernher von Braun (head of NASA) gravestone & I think he secretly knew the truth about the firmament & it was his subtle way of getting the truth across.

3. One is self-luminous and the other is not.
There is nothing in the text to tell me which of these is correct. The Hebrew word for ‘light’ is not definitive, and there is no qualifying word to indicate self luminance. Therefore the light properties for either object cannot be determined by the text. It is the reality which determines which option is correct and none of them contradict the text.
Genesis 1 is not about God’s creation. It is about God Himself as the Creator. The Bible is not a cosmology book, it is a Book about God and His provision for our salvation, His Son Jesus who took the punishment of my sin and your sin & died on the cross. He rose again so that you and I can have eternal life. This is the message of the Bible.

You cannot use Genesis 1 to indicate self-luminous sun and moon.Like i have stated before The Bible teaches us about The Bible. But for most science has closed the intellect to read and believe.

What you claim, would only work if the window on the roof and the window on the ceiling lined up directly with the sun, so it would only provide light for a few minutes each day. The reflective tube and diffuser allow light from the sun at any angle to fill the room.
Still deflecting. Address my points instead of avoiding them.
