Nobody was on about how God did it.
My point was that Genesis does not say how God created the world; only that he did.
That is its purpose - it is about God. Genesis is the fist book of God's word and it reveals God to us.
God is creator. The world came into being because God spoke. So God wanted to create the world/universe; if he hadn't, he wouldn't have spoken and said "let there be ....".
God is merciful; even though Adam had everything but chose to disobey, God didn't say, "you ungrateful wretch", destroy him and start again. He saw that Adam was ashamed so he made him a coat from animal skins - the first sacrifice ever.
God is full of grace; Abram did nothing to deserve a blessing from God. God blessed him because he wanted to bless him. Even when he messed up, God still kept his promise and, in time, they had Isaac.
God is patient; even in Genesis we see people sinning, being punished, repenting, being blessed, sinning, being punished etc etc. This is true of the OT too. God kept saying he was going to destroy them, they repented, he "changed his mind" and everything was good - until the next time.

It has been said that all the major themes of the Bible; creation, blessing, forgiveness, grace, covenants etc are found in the first 12 chapters of Genesis. Genesis tells us much about God. That is its purpose; that's what the writer wants us to know.
If he, and God, had needed us to know that the world was created in 6x26 hours, that is was completely flat/a globe/an equilateral triangle, that the moon was x miles away from the earth etc etc - God would have told us.
He didn't tell us, but he gave humans the ability to learn and discover. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not sinful to try to find out about the amazing world that God made, any more than it is sinful to have children and make new human beings.

I totally agree & that's exactly what I am doing.
So are scientists and astronauts.
You know, some have even come to believe in God through studying his creation - just as the Psalmist said; "the heavens declare the glory of God. " Psalm 19:1

I have a skylight in my ceiling which consists of a tube with a reflective inner surface coming down from the roof and a diffuser at the bottom of the tube on the ceiling. It is a 'light' which uses reflected sunlight to illuminate our bathroom.

It is only vague to people who believe what science says over what The Bible says. So they look for excuses, light actually does not mean light, it can not mean light because science says so.

It is basically like the people who believe it takes more than belief in Jesus to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life. They say John 3:16 does not tell a person how, it is to vague or the verse is to hard to understand. They say that not because the verse is actually hard to understand, they say that because they do not believe what the verse is saying. They believe it takes more than belief in Jesus.

This Psalm 19:1 is on Wernher von Braun (head of NASA) gravestone & I think he secretly knew the truth about the firmament & it was his subtle way of getting the truth across.

Sure it does, it pits what science states is reality to what The Bible states is reality about God's creation.

Actually it is just capturing the sunlight and directing it into your room. You really would not need a reflective inner surface.

You asked, I delivered, and as usual you make excuses.
What you claim, would only work if the window on the roof and the window on the ceiling lined up directly with the sun, so it would only provide light for a few minutes each day. The reflective tube and diffuser allow light from the sun at any angle to fill the room.

If I remove the poetic & mythological interpretations from Genesis 1, I’m still left with three basic possibilities.

1. Both the sun & moon are self-luminous.

2. Neither the sun nor the moon are self-luminous.

3. One is self-luminous and the other is not.

There is nothing in the text to tell me which of these is correct. The Hebrew word for ‘light’ is not definitive, and there is no qualifying word to indicate self luminance. Therefore the light properties for either object cannot be determined by the text. It is the reality which determines which option is correct and none of them contradict the text.

Genesis 1 is not about God’s creation. It is about God Himself as the Creator. The Bible is not a cosmology book, it is a Book about God and His provision for our salvation, His Son Jesus who took the punishment of my sin and your sin & died on the cross. He rose again so that you and I can have eternal life. This is the message of the Bible.

That’s what I would call ‘projecting’!

Like i have stated before The Bible teaches us about The Bible. But for most science has closed the intellect to read and believe.

For the stars of heaven and their constellations
Will not give their light;
The sun will be darkened in its going forth,
And the moon will not cause its light to shine.

Once again you deflect from what I have said. The reality is that a persons preconceived ideas dictate as to how Genesis 1 is interpreted. You cannot use Genesis 1 to indicate self-luminous sun and moon.

And again you prove you do not believe simple statements made in The Bible, because of your belief in science over The Bible.

Well you science people do need all the help you can get to keep science deception going in this age. Enjoy it while the time last, because once it is over it is over forever.

Still deflecting. Address my points instead of avoiding them.

God created two lights, is all that is need. Just as simple as believe in Jesus for Eternal Life.
need a verse for each.

Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

You do not make any point worth addressing, just repeated statements that you do not believe The Bibles creation account about the sun and moon
