As long as Trump hostile media is the source of all the speculation, there's reason to be skeptical of anything stated. One thing is certain, they will beat the Russia thing forever even though after nearly a year of spying and investigation NOTHING has turned up. Further, there is NO proof that Trump is under investigation.

Except that Comey associates are denying the statement Trump made in the letter.

Yeah, which is completely unlike birtherism (which Trump was himself promoting), "he's gonna take our guns", the Muslim thing, Benghazi! and E-mails.
