It's hard to say what you would or wouldn't do...

I think the right girl would be worth the wait though. We have to keep in mind that typically the right girl is someone who is a lot like us and they probably wouldn't want to wait that long either. Personally, I'm not in a rush to get married again although I do want a relationship.

This is exactly how I feel too.

I don't quite understand why two people would want to wait so long (more than a year, for example) for an engagement. If I wanted to marry my future spouse I'd want to marry him as soon as possible after the engagement. :D

If I were to get engaged on Christmas (my choice engagement date), I would like to be married that following Summer. So that's like 6 months. But if she's not big into Christmas engagements then I could see waiting like a year or so.

Me too. And the more time that passes, the more I think that if I find a guy who wants to marry me... we'll be headed to Vegas the day after he proposes. Seriously.

Yeah, I've changed my stance. I would like to get married based on my need for unadulterated guilt-free sex. So, if Mr. Right comes along and he says I believe your the one and I'm ok with that, then I say we should head down to the courthouse and get to that honeymoon night.

Not really (but not altogether out of the question), but reading a few of the posts, I have to say that considering sexual temptation, I think it wise not to have a super long engagement period, because if this is the person that God has for you then it is safe to assume that you are most likely going to be way turned by them after several months much less several years, just because you fit together so well and I believe God is passionate and makes us passionate.

Not that avoiding sin is a great reason to get married, but if you've already met the person and God has given you the go ahead on marrying them then why drag it out. I'm not just talking about physical attraction here. You can be spiritually attracted to someone and that can lead to wanting to closer to them sexually also. It's the urge to merge.

i would like to be married in 5 years. I think it's highly unlikey to happen though. I think that i've learned by now that i'm not what Christian guys are looking for, so i don't see it happening. And to tell the truth that makes me a little bit sad.

I know that I'm a few years behind you, so I hope that you know I'm coming from a place of utmost respect.

That's so silly! It's not about what some guys have thought of you up to this point if none of them have been the Two for you (I say two because you've already got The One).

I'm starting to think that all of the boys in Georgia are plumb crazy. You are such a gem, I am really surprised that they're not knocking down your door. Just hang in there, with all of the gifts that you've been open enough to allow God to mold in you, I just know that there's a guy out there lucky enough to deserve you.

Our timing isn't like God's, maybe this valley that you're in is a long and deep one; but maybe you're coming up the other side towards a mountain.

Anyway. I think you're the bees knees, just don't be discouraged.
