First Try?

Hi! Well, it's been decided! May is our first month to TTC! (It would be April, but with my long 40 day cycles, it's not physically possible )
My question is- did anyone conceive their very first month of actively trying? I am just curious. I have heard so many stories of couples trying month after month, or the opposite of it just happening without trying. Just wondering if anyone fell pregnant the first time they tried! (Looking for optimism, I guess- don't worry- I realize that it probably WON'T happen right away- and I'm ready to try a few months, if needed

It's nice to hear that it can happen right away though.

I fell with my first the first month off bc that hubby was home at the right time, and with my third I fell the day we were given the go ahead. My second was an agonising wait (though not as long as many people have to endure) for my fertility to return (four/five months). Then I fell the first month I ovulated.

Yes, I did & the 2nd time as well. I had always known for some reason once I tried I would get preggie. I have never been on BC. My H knew better than to slip up before we actually tried.

Thanks for the encouragement! I've always worried that we'd have trouble... I think because my Mom did. But so far I seem to be ovulating regularly, and I've never had any problems, just an ovarian cyst, and had an ultrasound, and they didn't tell me anything was wrong!

I get ovarian cysts too. As long as it's not pcos I don't think it's a fertility issue.

All three times I have fallen pregnant basically the first time we didn't use contraception.

I have a lot of friends who have found it difficult to fall pregnant, and we wondered if it had something to do with "the pill"? I have never been on the pill (probably TMI but the only contraception we've ever used has been condoms).

I fell pregnant the first month after I stopped the pill. But the next time I went off the pill we went to NFP which worked really well until this time when I fell pregnant, but that was more because I think we both wanted me to fall pregnant, and knew that I was fertile and went ahead anyway! That's on of the really great things about NFP is that it is basically a day by day month by month time by time decision.
I also had a cyst which had ruptured about 6 years before I fell pregnant with DD.

And I also have 38-42 day cycles, so I know what you mean about no being able to "try" every month!

We conceived on month 22. It was a looooong wait, but there are others who have to wait longer. My best friend got preggo when she wasn't trying. Then, when she and DH actually tried, she became preggo the first day with twins. Heaven help her if she tries really hard.

First month we were married. It was a bit of a shock!!!
But i wouldn't have it any other way. I can't wait to meet this little one...

yeah, it took 3 months for my first, which ended in miscarriage, then it took 11 months of trying after that - but conceived the first month on fertility meds. My son took 7 cycles - 6 of which included fertility meds (double dose) ovulation predictor kits and Basal Temperature charting, but we got there in the end. A lot of effort for great reward...
But most everyone else I know IRL, fall pregnant by scent it seems! lol!

For us it took 7 months of trying the first time around, and this pregnancy I conceived in the fifth month, so no, no first tries for us.

However, my sister and my sil both got pregnant right away.

While I'm sure it does happen, that certainly wasn't the case here. I thought I would fall pregnant within 3 months.... WRONG. A year and a half later it finally happened.

THat is me, LOL

My first pregnancy was on the pill (lost that baby), second was using condoms, third was we had just started talking about TTC.

For my sister, her first was on the pill (she lost the baby), second they tried for 2 months, third they tried for 4 months.

Yup, first month We both went to the chiropractor a few times and got our whole pelvis/hip areas in alignment. We were both taking very good vitamins (his had a bunch of zinc in it).

That may or may not have helped, but I was pregnant within four days of TTC actively.

I pray it happens quickly for you too.

(Oh, and I also put my legs way up in the air for ten or fifteen minutes after nookie)

Yes, we got pregnant the first month trying both times.
